Overall my experience at Fujiyama was average to slightly above. What made it average more than anything was from the time we placed our order till our last plate arrived was almost 40 minutes overall. The Saving Grace was that the meat was very good and the rice was pretty good also but not the best I've had. The salad was good, but the soup was a little on the weak side with very little flavor. The restaurant is in an old Waffle House and it's small and they do not cook in front of you and cook it in the back in the kitchen. The restaurant was moderately busy when we came, but expected to get my food at least around the 20-minute mark. My wife ordered the California roll and she said it was good too. Our server was very good and took care of us well. My only other complaint would be the pricing. Their prices are close to some sit down Hibachi restaurants. For example a chicken plate was around $13 and a filet and shrimp combination was $21. I think the California roll cost around $7.50. They do not charge extra for fried rice which was a plus because that is a big pet peeve of mine when I go to any Japanese restaurant. Also with your dinner you pick soup or salad but don't get both like is the custom at nearly every other Japanese restaurant...
Read moreThe food here isn't that great. I started out with the seafood soup. There was practically no flavor to it. Not even salt, pepper, or soy sauce could save it. Staff was willing to make me something else in exchange after I told them it was too bad to eat. So the 2 stars are for service. However, while waiting a long time for the new food to come out I went to the bathroom (literally less than 2 minutes) I came back and my booth had been cleaned and a new group of 4 people were sitting there. They're excuse was they thought I left. And they reseated me at a table in the middle of the restaurant. Which would have been okay if I was with a group but eating in by myself it made me feel vulnerable which is why I asked for a back booth in the first place. This isn't even the first time I've had a terrible experience at this location so I probably wont be coming back.
I'll also add that the salmon dinner I add was good. But I took it to go because of the situation. The staff here are also really young. Most of them seem to be teenagers. The last time I came here it was older staff so I'm not sure if just depends on the day or if the turnover rate is high. I know a lot of food businesses are...
Read moreI broke down on the side of the road returning to Jacksonville from Venice Beach on a work trip. Found this very cool, very comfortable Japanese steak house across the street from the hotel I walked 2 miles to find Figured this would make me feel better and couldn’t have called it more perfect. While the place is small and quaint it is in no way anything less than the big houses in Jax The food is absolutely exceptional, and go figure since Bushnell is a small town the prices are Uber Reasonable But the service… My server Lance was hands down the best part of my dining experience! His knowledge of the menu was a refreshing change to the standard hum drum and his attention was very kind hearted and appreciated. I explained how I came to find this place and he took it from there. My glass was never empty, my food prepared to perfection and his attention to making me comfortable top notch!!! Kudos to Lance I will stop in again whenever passing through town Thank you Lance for turning a bad day into a wonderful dining experience. I look forward to seeing...
