I swear I am not one to write reviews. I wasn't going to but I have never had such a terrible experience before. It was a very nice place, my friends and I wanted to check it out. After being told it was a 45 minute wait for the lanes, we decided to wait it out. After about an hour and fifteen minutes or so, I went up and checked again and they said another fifteen minutes. Another half hour went by, and I saw that lanes were open so I went back up again and asked if we were almost up. The person who was keeping track of my name... their shift ended and she left. So who knows how long we were waiting when we didn't have to. Anyways, we were told that you pay by the hour, not the game. I was told 6 people would have no problem getting one game done in an hour, and that if we ran out of time they would give us another 10 minutes. I might have misunderstood but this is what I was told.
Also be careful when you pay. We had six people, and they said it was $10 a person for bowling and shoes. I said I wanted to pay for my husband and myself, and they only swiped my card for $10. I was confused and they said they have to break it up like that so they swiped my card again for my husband. They did the same thing to the rest of the group (this comes into play later).
We did not mess around, we bowled one after another. The only hold up was we went and got drinks (after being told a waiter comes up there... they do not). The first person in the 8th frame started bowling and then the game was shut off. I kindly walked up and asked for the extra 10 minutes I thought (I guess my bad) we received since we ran out of time. I was told you have to pay for the extra time.
Since it was just one thing after another, I asked for the owner. This is where I can not believe how we were treated. I am sorry if I was in the wrong here. First I found out that it was not $10 a person, it was $40 for the whole lane (for 6 people). So four of us paid for the rest of the group when we were told it was per a person. Then I was told we were to receive extra time, the owner claims that was never said. If I would have known, our group would have split into two lanes (because at this point half of them were empty). Honestly all we wanted, was to finish the game, that is it. I was yelled at, told that I was in the wrong, and was refused any type of compensation back (even though I overpaid).
The best part? They said they can not actually tell people how long the wait is, so that is why they said 45 minutes. That made no sense to me.
After waiting over two hours, overpaying, not having a waiter come up to the lanes (when we were told they would), and having the miss understanding of receiving extra time, and then having the owner yell at me.... I can honestly say I will never be back. I know things happen, and I was ok with the whole night not going smoothly but I can not stand being yelled at and treated like an idiot. I hope no one else has a...
Read moreOut of town guest of two visited your roof top bar for the fresh air and view. It was a bit crowded and we waited a bit for a welcoming from our server. Our impatience dissipated however, when our server Bionca assisted us and this is why; She was delightful and pleasant the entire visit. She was quick as she could be, yet was very attentative and thoughtful to the patrons as she made her rounds. She was exceptionally patient with us and all of our "first-timer" questions of the menu. It was quite surprising how she managed the roof top as we came to find out that she was the only individual working it. A difficult task for anyone to manage when you have to be the bartender, server, table clearer, host and cashier all at once. The patrons fluctuated from full house to a handful. Either way I witnessed her do everything-she did it well. However, the most aspiring thing was her demeanor through it all. She never complain about her job and she never appear irritated. She defused any irritation we had and balanced the atmosphere of the roof top with the beautiful day. We plan to come back because she made our visit enjoyable. Unfortunately management wasn't there as I requested to boast about her. So, I hope they see this because you are an exceptional worker! Thank you Bionca! Plus, she made recommendations toward your tacos and they...
Read moreThis is a fairly new place in Byron. Opened about a year ago. It has quickly become the Friday night after work place to be. The food there is good, however, there are very limited vegan options. None, in fact, listed on the menu but if you ask them to make something vegan, like leave the meat and cheese off, they will accommodate. The beer selection offers much variety and is served in 12 or 16 ounce glasses, perfect for after work relaxation! The restaurant/bar is family friendly and offers bowling in the back of the restaurant. It is not a typical bowling alley. It is an upscale new, family friendly place to enjoy with no smoking! It also has dart boards and a golf simulator in another area with private rooms for parties. In the summer, there is a rooftop deck with a bar, however, I have never seen anyone serving alcohol up there. Also, one quirky thing, if you choose to drink up there, is that the wait staff can not bring your alcoholic beverage up there, so the wait staff bring it to the landing on the stairs, come to your table and tell you it is there. Then you have to go get it. A little weird and quirky. This is a great place for a small town. I will be going...
