I got here recommended by someone. Total disappointment as my girlfriend wanted to eat Seafood and we wanted to try the real fresh deal. Let me start, we got the by 7:20PM on a Saturday night. 1. The place had only 3 tables open and available, all 3 tables were dirty, so we had to wait for about 5 minutes for tables to be ready. 2. Once sat down we got menus and silverware about 5 minutes later....and not even a question as to what we wanted to drink or anything. 3. We sat down 2 tables away from the main door so every time the main door opened up it slammed back into place....SUPER ANNOYING when you keep in mind that most of your entrees are all over $20.00 ... so, in my business mind I would think that a table would be enough to invest back into a main door to make non-local customers feel better and in a good environment, and have someone in staff cleaning tables after a customer leaves, and someone to greet customers right away.
If we were talking about McDonnalds, maybe I could understand but it makes no sense to pay premium food pricing for a hole in the wall environment and...
Read moreSimple place, GREAT food, Better service. Most complains about eating our in Puerto Rico is the long waits and poor to no service, no worries about that at Jerry's. From walking in, taking our drink order, answering questions about the menu, and making recomendation ( including going for a fresh Capitan over a Chillo), this was probably the best dining service we had in many visits at restaurant in the area over the last few years. Food was excellent, we had Mofongo relleno de Carucho and a whole Capitan fried fish, both on criolla sauce. From the look of it you can tell this was not your "typical" criolla sauce and the flavor proved it. Why 4 stars. The restaurant is a simple dining room, not much more than a space and tables, nothing to be impressed by or memorable. If you are looking for atmosphere, Jerry's is not for you, but if you are looking for great service and better food, head over. Our recomendation Tostones rellenos de hueyes ( if you ask they will let you have a ...
Read moreJerry's seafood is one of the best Puerto Rican seafood restaurants in the Cabo Rojo area. The restaurant is spacious and has a simple decor. The staff is friendly and they follow COVID-19 protocol. I tried the octopus (pulpo) mofongo and my wife had the pepper steak mofongo. Both dishes were well prepared and tasted yummy. The portions were big and the prices are about average for seafood dishes in the area.
The following items were included with the meal: a small salad, creole fish soup and garlic bread. Many visitors come nearby to the the Joyuda area for seafood. However Jerry's seafood restaurant is 10 minutes away from Joyuda and it's so much better than the restaurants in Joyuda. The food tastes better and the portions are much bigger. My advice is to skip the Joyuda locations and visit a true Gem. I will definitely recommend Jerry's seafood restaurant to my friends and my relatives who visit from the...
