Brann's Steakhouse & Grille — Restaurant in Caledonia Charter Township

We went to Brann's this evening (In Caledonia, MI) with our daughter and her boyfriend who are headed back to college tomorrow and wanted to have a nice dinner. We arrive around 730pm and asked the host if we could have a table. "He says there aren't any available" and we would have to wait. We could clearly see 2 empty tables right in front of us that hadn't been cleaned off yet so we waited... After 20mins my husband said to the host "can't you just wipe 1 of those tables up for us? Or get me a cloth and I'll do it myself" (there were no other people waiting except us) He did as we asked and we sat down. The waitress came over and asked for our drinks- 3 waters and a Margarita (which came 20 mins later) then we ordered hubby had wings, my daughter and I ordered steaks n shrimp, and her boyfriend had a burger and fries. She brings us a basket of rolls and we each take one, my daughter's boyfriend starts gagging and begins pulling this long black hair from down his throat. It was baked through the biscuit disgusting! We are waiting to tell the waitress but she hasn't returned for 20mins and when she does she grabs the hair and biscuit and says she'll get a manager. In the meantime our food arrives, she ordered cheese on her steak I did not but they both had cheese they were the smallest tallest chunks of steak that were bloody raw and we asked for them med well. I ordered fried shrimp with mine and got scampi. The other 2 orders were fine. We called the waitress over n asked her if she could put the steaks back on and bring me the correct shrimp and she said "Its not on her, the manager putt the wrong order in". So the manager brings the steaks back out and still raw so she takes them back again. Hubby ordered another margarita which was forgotten about I guess? And the steaks return again she says "3rd time is a charm I guess" and laughs. It wasnt funny we had other plans and this was ridiculously long wait. My hubby and daughters boyfriend's had finished their meals by the time we got ours. We asked for more water and napkins we never got like the margarita, and the Manager apologized n comps the bill 15.00. This is the worst Brann's ive ever been to, and ive been to almost all of them. The last 4x we've went, there has been issues with wrong food, service, burnt boneless wings having to be sent back 3x because they were like rocks. I've been a cook and a waitress in my day there is no excuse for this type of experience ever! The waitress ripped the desert menu right out of daughters hand at the end. We were not rude or nasty nor Am I a person that's so picky and makes habit of sending my food back repeatedly, we simply just asked for what we ordered. This Brann's needs some help, I still had a pricey bill for a terrible experience. I work in business development , my job is to correct these types of things. It's worth the investment because this is the 1st review I've ever written on a restaurant, but after 4 visits come on. This should have been a nice night with my family not hours there and my time...

Night before Thanksgiving we decided tobgobto Branns for dinner. Boyfriend, myself and his mom. Thinking that iylt may be busy i made a reservation online for 6pm. We got there at 5:55pm. There were people ahead of us who also had a resevation. The person seating patrons asked how many i told her 3 and we had a reservation. She double checked and there we were for 6pm. She asked me to wait a minute while proceeding to seat the woman who had just come in with no reservation into a booth. Comes back and asks again who was next. I say ummm we were and had a reservation. She tells me well it will be about a 15 minute wait. So i ask what is the point in offereing a reservation then? She asks if i would like to speak to the manager on duty. Of course i would like to. So he comes out i tell him what has happened and that we are here very often. He says he recognized me and knows that. So i ask him what is the point of a reservation if you are going to come in and be put on a waiting list anyway? His explanation was that she was not properly eyeing the door and people were seating themselves and that he would talk to her. That still doesn't help us at all. In the midst of this conversation she proceeds to seat 2 more couples. So in the end he offered no condolences and no way to try to rectify it. We used to go probably 2 days a week and now we are done going. Don't make a reservation because it is obviously not...

Our experience at Brann's Steakhouse and Sports Grill was excellent. This is a casual dining restaurant with reasonable prices. The TVs were muted, and there was no music. :) So, we were able to hold a normal conversation without having to yell. The bar had a different entrance than the family dining area, and was separated from the family dining area by a wall, which made it more like a family dining area, not like your sitting in a bar. You couldn't hear the bar except for talking, and the TVs were quiet as well. The food was excellent, and the 11oz. and 8oz steaks were cooked perfectly. Melting in your mouth goodness! They stayed hot and tender throughout the entire meal, and the sides were generous and delicious. Our waitress, Brittany, was excellent; friendly but not over the top. She waited until we were almost through with our salads before she brought out the piping hot meal. Our drinks were kept full and we lacked for nothing, but she was not a bother. She spoke calmly and kindly, and was genuine. She was happy and enjoyed her part time job. I used to wait tables, and therefore can be very critical with servers. She is the first server in years that met all my expectations perfectly. So, overall, this was an excellent dining experience. I definitely would recommend this place and go again; even with it being a 30 minute...
