Good price. Great flavor. Perfect portion size. Friendly service.
Everything was good. No complaints whatsoever. I wish every taco shop could be like this place. If I lived closer, I would be here more often. I ordered the Al Pastor. It had that great kind of crunch to the meat. Very recognizable flavor.
It was just a little hard to find. But I'm finding that these are typically the best places to eat. The face of the shop was perpendicular to the street so it's not facing the street and very easy to pass if you don't know what you are looking for. I used to live in alpine 20 years ago and occasionally I return so I know some places but I'm glad I choose this one while...

This place has withstood the test of time as being one of (if not THE) only Mexican shops in town over 20 years ago, and it continues to be my preferred option today, even with several other options currently. My main criteria in rating here is quality and consistency. I've never had a 'bad' meal, negative employee interaction, etc., and the food ordered seems far more consistent with portions/size; getting a burrito that is at least 25% smaller than one from a couple weeks ago has never occurred for me. There's a small patio and limited indoor options for dining, but for a dining-in, I'd recommend Marrieta's just...
Read moreI got the three rolled tacos, and I was surprised because they're weren't good at all. The Mexican guac was cold and they put thick green lettuce and even thicker cut cheddar cheese. Didn't have flavor and the red salsas weren't good either. I've been here a few times many years ago, and it used to be really good. Maybe rolled tacos aren't their specialty, but if you can't make good rolled tacos in San Diego, I don't know what to say. The ladies were cooking back there, another review here said maybe they aren't so good, so maybe I'll give it another try if the men are cooking. The restaurant itself is fixed up cute and the service...
