Beach Hut Deli — Restaurant in California

My boyfriend loves this place so I keep trying them. Unfortunately, I never get the sandwich I order and I don’t order picky so it makes zero sense to me. For some reason, it’s also always soggy. I tried again yesterday and am terribly disappointed. Not only was my sandwich a soggy mess but they got all 3 sandwiches wrong this time. I ordered a plain turkey, plain- just turkey and bread and they somehow manage to mess that up. They added mayonnaise, mustard, cheese and onions. My surfin bird had no cream cheese even though I had a convo with the lady right before. She was concerned that I wouldn’t want cheese on a warmed sandwich (by request) and I assured her I ordered it exactly how I’m hoping to get it. It had no cheese, it came with mayo even though I asked for it to have none, it had triple onion even though I asked for none and it had no Greek peppers even though it was supposed to have it. I ordered extra cheese so the second cheese should be pepperjack and they forgot to add it. My third sandwich was supposed to be a regular surfin bird with no bacon and no tomato. They got that wrong too. They didn’t put any onions, added tomato and it had 6 pieces of bacon. None of us were able to eat our sandwiches due to one allergy or another and having all sandwiches made incorrectly. The ladies in their always seem to either be tipsy or stony so maybe change some policies around that to hopefully get a sober worker that can read a sandwich order and make it correctly??? This is the third time in 6 weeks that’s I’ve spent around $60 bucks for a dinner we cannot eat. I will not be going back a 4th time, that’s for sure. What a waste of time and money. I’d love to find a good sandwich shop or deli around here as we like to order a few times a month to give me a break in the kitchen. Guess the search is still on...

Very slow. Man making sandwiches has long hair that is not tied back.

Reply: Wait time was roughly 40 minutes with only two people ordering ahead of us. The salami is comparable to gallo which you can get a whole bag of at Safeway for half the price of one of your sandwiches. So much mayonnaise on my sandwich it made my eyes water. The other sandwich did not have the contents evenly spread out. One side was cream cheese, the middle was cranberry, and the other side was turkey. The bread wasn’t impressive but it wasnt terrible either so congrats on that element. Will never be back. Especially after receiving such a passive aggressive, snarky response to a simple but honest review! How rude to act like someone not having their hair tied back isn’t an issue. That’s disgusting. Even people at McDonald’s have the common decency to tie their hair back! But hey keep arguing with people giving you feedback and see where...

I absolutely love this place! The people and the food are definitely deserving of 5 stars. I’m sad to give them just three but unfortunately it has been earned. The last three times we have ordered sandwiches to go for dinner the order has been consistently wrong. We know people make mistakes so we don’t complain, plus once we are already home, what’s the point. Unfortunately there have been just too many mistakes. Tonight was the last straw. We order three sandwiches and they were very, very stingy on everything. There was more bread than anything, which is not normal at all. I had to add mayonnaise to two of the sandwiches and one was a tuna with very little tuna. I’m sad to say that I can’t afford $30.00 for three sandwiches that I have to add to once we...
