Beach Hut Deli — Restaurant in California

Food is always great here, huge portions and tastes good, also the lobby is nice! However It’s pretty expensive and these 2 sandwiches with 1 fountain drink was $34 with tip. You’d think the nice customer service would come with that. Usually it takes forever but i’ve worked in the food industry in a job just like this for years, so I understand (however I’m polite to people and know how to work in a fast paced environment) however I just had an unfortunate experience with the red headed young woman making the sandwiches. I just now spoke to her on December 4th, and I don’t mean to be rude when I say any of this but i’m not sure if the girl was just having a rough day but taking your anger out on your co-workers and your customers is no way to do your job. I waited 40 minutes for 2 sandwiches (my boyfriend was also late for work) in which it took 40 minutes to make the first sandwich? or she left it on the counter and didn’t call my order. After asking about the other sandwich she proceeded to have a very bad attitude towards me and my boyfriend and I, she shook her head multiple times, frilled her brows, pointed at her coworker, myself and my boyfriend. and shoved the food in my hand at the end of getting my second sandwich with her saying nothing. I advise the manager of this Beach Hut Deli to please just review the cameras, and possibly have a conversation to her about being nice and respectful even when being corrected about something that was wrong about an order. Her reaction alone to being told there was 2 sandwiches was very disappointing and troubling seeing her get so riled up just by not seeing another sandwich...

I tried this place out and had an annoyingly bad experience….twice.

First time I ordered a $14 sandwich with everything and when I opened it up when I got home, there were no toppings and just meat with an honestly ridiculous amount of mayonnaise….

Came back a second time and I ordered a $24 x-large sandwich and specifically said no tomatoes, mayo or mustard. Got home and opened it and it’s filled with those lots of tomatoes and tons of mayo and mustard….. I went back and asked for them to remake it and they did. I thought “oh wow well great it worked out this time!” ….and then they had the nerve to charge me again but for the small size price, even though they made the sandwich wrong.

So I had to pay them $8 to make me a new one - to fix a mistake they made.

Safe to say I won’t go back to be ripped off...

I just can't figure out the service issue. If you go in when it's busy, a sandwich can easily take 20+ minutes. Last visit, the place was empty, two people ahead of me, three people working ... and it still took 15 minutes to get 3 sandwiches? I'm guessing online orders take priority. This location is very close to a baseball field where we watch little league games at least twice a week. Lots of people bring food to the games, but everyone knows that you can't do Beach Hut unless you plan WAY ahead. Love their sandwiches, so it's kind of sad.
