Blue Oak Grille — Restaurant in California

Me and my husband went to dinner for our anniversary at Blue Oak Grille. I ordered a New York steak with mash and squash. He had a Philly cheese sandwich with fries. Our appetizers were green salads and calamari. The Philly cheese sandwich was by far the best. The new York steak was ok just a little tough. The calamari was overcooked. The salads are enormous way too much lettuce and not enough tomatoes or croutons to even it out. Sarah was our bartender and server and food runner. She was amazing. Always had a smile on her face and informed us of everything they were out of when it came to alcohol. We saw a male manager walking around. He didn't seem to be doing much of anything. He wasn't pleasant when I asked for dressing for our salad. He looked annoyed. He was bossing people around telling them to do stuff and was rude to the employees but didn't bother helping. Overall the experience was a 4/10. They are under staffed and overworked. Sarah was the one that made us feel welcomed and...

So, my boyfriend and I had dinner here last night and I ended up getting sick. So...I first ordered the Tri tip nachos, and every piece if the tri tip was bloody pink. I ate a couple of chips with meat on it, and i just couldn't, I wanted to throw up. I let our waitress know (which she and her partner were both very nice about it), they took the nachos (which were cold by the way), back and brought me out salmon with veggies and rice pilaf. it would've been cool, but the salmon in the center still was jellied, like not cooked fully...and this grossed me out, so I couldn't finish it. About 1 hr later, my stomach began to rumble and cramp. I rushed home and was on the toilet for a whole hr. As a bar and restaurant owner I love to experience new local establishments and food offerings. Upon entering the blue oak we were promptly greeted by a lovely bar tender named Sarah, she immediately took our drink order with suggested help and offered a food menu with recommended appetizers, entrees and dessert ! Right off the bat I knew we were in good hands! She is knowledgeable and kind to all her guests we saw her interact with and made us feel at home ! The food was great and came out quickly, the restaurant was almost full of guests !
