California Grill Nipomo — Restaurant in California

I've been wanting to eat at California Grill in Nipomo for a while now so I stopped in today to give them a try. I asked if they had a combo deal and the cashier said no, not today. Not a deal breaker plus I was really in the mood for a burger. I ordered the classic burger with cheese and an order of fries and the total was $10.69 which is more than expected to pay for a burger and fries but it's my first time here and I don't mind paying a little more for a delicious burger. When my burger came it looked a little over cooked but a little ketchup could fix that.......not in this case. The burger was super dry and so were the fries. My girlfriend and I were looking to get some decent takeout food on a Saturday evening. We already had the necessary libations. She lives in Nipomo and knew of a "burger joint" on Tefft Street that she had wanted to try out. The Grill menu was very interesting with much more than burgers. We chose a Pastrami Sandwich and a Philly Cheese Steak. I'm from Pennsylvania and also spent time in New York State. The Pastrami Sandwich was as good as any that I've had back east! The Cheese Steak was not the same as a Philly but every bit as good. I think the Grill should be confident enough to call it a Nipomo Cheese Steak! Brought the family here one Sunday for lunch when we were craving a tri tip sandwich and they didn't disappoint. The tri tip was cut thin and cooked well and the bread was prefect. The BBQ sauce could have been a bit better but was still good. The onion rings were delicious and homemade and the kids loved their chicken strips and fries. The place is bigger than I thought and had quite a few places to sit inside however the parking lot is kinda small and it was a bit of a fight to park and to leave.
