I highly recommend asking what is fresh before purchasing. I have had issues with 4 separate items not being edible Cinnamon roll was hard as a rock Muffin was too dry to eat even after heating Bagel was rock hard day after purchase and the last purchase I made there was a 13$ loaf of bread. I purchased it on Monday, unwrapped it on Wednesday to make sandwiches and saw that the inner slice the large slice had mold on it. I called and left a message immediately and let them know. I had just purchased the bread because of the price I didn’t want to throw it away. I probably should have. Because the bakery is 10 miles from where I live, I couldn’t return the loaf until Saturday again probably a mistake and when I did bring it back, I was confronted with a very negative attitude as if I was lying and I was told there was nothing wrong with the bread. I was told that this is never happened and it doesn’t make sense I said I would not have returned it and would have ate it had it not had mold. I believe she expected me to remove the moldy slice and eat the rest of the bread, but I didn’t want to take a chance.. I don’t mind paying high prices for items. I just would hope they would stand behind their products. I was embarrassed. I felt ashamed for no good reason and then I was told there was nothing wrong with the bread. I am a sourdough connoisseur and luckily, I have found a very delicious loaf. Locally for half the price made organically. When I explained to the owner, if I pay $13 for a loaf of bread, I want to be able to eat it even though I did consider throwing it away at that point there was a small loaf of sourdough on the counter. She pushed it towards me and said you can have that . She was obviously not happy about the situation. I felt insulted and if that wasn’t bad enough, I received a text from her on my way home, telling me there was nothing wrong with the bread.! ...

The giant cookies look good but they are dry, dont order. The lemon bars are just okay, skip it. The croissants are AMAZING, order them!!! I am going back for more and I want to try a loaf of bread. Coffee is good! From March/2020

Updated 2/2021- 5stars!!! Mexican Mocha is wonderful! Not to sweet, mild spice and cocoa flavors. Croissant bread pudding is AMAZING!!! Totally worth the $7. Happy suprise, the bread pudding had chocolote instead of gross raisins in it!! It was so delicious. My new favorite treat. I put it in the oven at 350 for 20 mins when I got home. Crispy edges, soft inside, flavor was yummy and not too sweet. Cream on top was great too!

Update 2022: photo is the chocolate peanut butter bar..warning!!! This bar is $15.75!!! Had I known the price I never would have gotten it!!! For that price it should be amazing but it is going in the trash!! The peanut butter layer is sooo dry and crumbly. The chocolate layer is thick and sticky and super sweet. Reminds me of chocolate caramel. I tried to eat it with a fork but its impossible. You have to bite into it. Matcha tea latte is smooth, creamy, sweet...

Tried Crobean and had a disappointing experience. It was 90+ out and no a/c. Food looked great. Ordered a few macrons, one pastry and a quiche. $40. I was surprised by how expensive but ok. We asked for water cups and were told we could purchase. I understand at a $1 donut shop not having gratuitous water, but when you are paying so much, it feels weird and cheap. Especially with the heat out.

She asked if I wanted my food heated and I did. The flavor of the quiche was good but crust was soft and I wondered if it had been microwaved. The pastry was beautiful and I was shocked when I took a bite that it was so tough I could barely chew it. I walked if she had microwaved it and she said she did. Which is surprising as that will ruin a pastry. I let her know (kindly) that it was super tough and she basically said “oh” and did not attempt to do anything to address the fact that my overpriced food was ruined. Super disappointing and do not recommend.

If you do go, hydrate first and decline your food...

I had a recent trip to San Diego from Phoenix, on my way home, before I would be limited to strictly fast food and gas stations, I decided to find a quick bite to eat. This unsuspecting cafe hit the spot! The service was wonderful, the women behind the counter was so friendly and helped me decide between all the great options. They have a great option of baked goods, from breads, quiche, macaroons and other sweets. I snagged the leek and truffle quiche, which was amazing. Some everything bagels for breakfast the next day and a raspberry mascarpone dessert. Everything was delicious. The prices are a bit steep, but for the quality and service, it was worth it. They have ample outdoor seating as well as some tables inside. Definitely worth a stop before getting into the SD city traffic or in the midst of a road trip!

I stopped in today and ordered a few pastries. Wonderful unique selection of pastries. I had a tomato mozzarella croissant, a s’mores croissant, and a raspberry oat bar. The tomato mozzarella pastry seemed raw, it tasted and had the texture of underbaked dough. On a positive note, the tomatoes were very fresh. The s’mores croissant was a little better - it was fully baked, but still had a strange doughy flavor. It did not have any butteriness. The raspberry oat bar similarly did not have a buttery flavor. It was not bad, but it was bland and dry. The pastries were around 7$ each so they were a bit expensive. The service was fast and friendly, and the ambiance was very nice inside. I would like to try this out again, I think I may have came by at the wrong time of day, since it was late morning.

Upon walking in I was immediately met with the delicious scent of fresh baked goodies and a friendly greeting. The 16oz flat white latte was perfect and honestly probably one of the best I've had. I had only went for coffee but when I saw the fresh giant cinnamon rolls and before I could finish saying nothing else I had to grab two of these bad boys and it was the best decision I made all week. This cafe is so friendly I was in there laughing with the amazing ladies who work and own it. I will definitely be back! Go Padres!
