I really was looking forward of eating at this restaurant. I was kind of let down from all the hype. We order some d shrimp tacos and they were decent, but a little bit too spicy on the sauce that they put on them. In fact that it was overwhelming that you could not taste the shrimp. I order the pescado sarandiado and i found it to be a little bit too pricey for what they serve. $36 dollards for the fish which came with a scoop of beans and rice. I paid $28 dollars for the same fish at the Monterey Wharf which had more flavor. . But anyways... the fish was also a little bit spicy on certain parts of it you could not taste the fish. The seasoning was also overwhelming. Maybe in this particular day the cooks weren't on their A game. The kids cheese burgers were on point, but they were adult size burgers. Hats go off for the cheeseburgers! The guacamole was fresh and chunky which made it nice for the pricey and the portion was great. The michelada that i order was water down and it did not taste like a michelada. The mix was too weak. It was also too pricey and it came with 4 shrimp on it. The shrimp was cold and no taste or flavor to them. There's a place in atwater and they put alot more tasty shrimp on them and for the same price. I will come back again and give it a second chance and hopefully they can wow me with their good. 😘😈

Dear lord baby Jesus.... If you haven't eaten here, you're missing out. My wife and I just ate here after seeing a video online. Hidden gem? Nah... this was like finding a hidden gold mine. From the second we walked in, we were greeted by an insanely nice woman who was very fun to talk to and laughed with us while showing us her favorites and recommendations. I ordered the seafood tower, and she graciously explained the raw meat part so as not to shock me. I guess some folks don't understand the true nature of raw. I love raw seafood! But to those not experienced, it was nice she gave a little "yo you sure?" Kind of like a Thai spot that asks if you really want it,"Thai hot!" I'm a big dude with a big appetite, and I could not finish the dish. I also loved spiced tomatoes, and the dish is surrounded by them and cucumbers. Refreshing!! My wife got the Molcajete (there's multiple, and I can't remember the name, but I put up a picture of it). The smell from that Molcajete would revive me if I died, just waft that sucker by my face, and I'll be back. It was amazing all around. Their drinks are insane as well. One complaint, they need cots there so I can lie down and nap immediately after dinner.

WOW! I love this place and truly cannot get enough! Everything from the staff and service, to the quality of the food, and the portions for the price are unbeatable. El coco loco is it, especially in this area, the quality of their food for their prices is not something you'll find around Modesto. Such authentic food, it really feels like your abuela or tia cooked this up for you with love and attention to all the spices flavor, but with the added details of the way they present their amazing dishes. This restaurant is family owned and you can feel how much love they poor into this place and the appreciation they have for all of their customers and loyal support, especially during these times. I can't stop coming back here and eating with friends, family, or just grabbing a delicious michelada to go! They are following restrictions very well and I feel completely safe dining there (everyone has masks and gloves on etc). Don't think about it, just go!

This place seems to have really good reviews and social media coverage. So we were really looking forward to trying it out. Besides knowing it's location and setting was not nice, we thought the food might be good enough to make up for it. Although the food was not horrible, but it wasn't great. Likewise, the Customer service wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. Our water and chips and salsa was not filled until everything is empty and we requested it. The fish ceviche we ordered was tasteless, but salty and sour. How they managed that is weird. The molcajete we ordered was not horrible, but again, very salty. Nothing extraordinary. We got there a little before 3pm and saw their happy hour last until 3pm. We asked if they could let us order our drinks in time for happy hour and they refused. Still, not a big deal. But if you ask us, neither customer service nor food was worth us going back. Upon leaving, we witness a server kicking a customer off a table, asking him if he doesn't know how to read the sign, "wait to be seated." The restaurant was not busy enough for that kind of attitude. I used to be a server and I would never treat anyone like that. I get being frustrated, but that insult and situation was very uncalled for. We ordered 3 dishes on the menu and the check came to be $100. Therefore, it is on the more pricey side for mediocre food and service. I would not recommend. There are much nicer places to eat in Modesto...

After reading all the reviews of other customers saying how good the food was me and my husband and I decided to try it out. We visited the restaurant in July 2022. When we walked inside, I noticed there was no air conditioning running, and the place was humid and hot. I ordered Camarones al mojo de ajo, It was Not pleasant or good the shrimp came in a small bowl with few half cut shrimp that was drowned in a greasy deep bowl of very intense garlic powder sauce. "Not fresh garlic" "Not Real Butter" shrimp was over cooked to the point of being rubbery and a tiny side of lettuce with onion and a slice of orange with no dressing and a small side of rice that had no flavor and was undercooked. Unfortunately, the Horchata drink was overly sweetened and was grainy.

The total price for the quality of food was $42.00, which is very expensive and not worth it. Would I go again?? My honest answer is NO.

Update 01/08/23

I left an honest review of our personal experiences. Google policy business reply states: For a business owner Not to attack directly the customers person. Furthermore, google's policy also states to report the business owner of such action. Stay professional and work on improving...
