Strikes & Spares Grill — Restaurant in Modesto

This review are from different days I go here. I had eggs, hashbrown, biscuits & gravy and a cup of clam chowder, mountain dew and coffee to drink. The breakfast was good, coffees good, the Clam chowder is delicious! Service was awesome! The fish on the fish and chip menu needs to be replaced. Need better breading on the fish. Order some fish thats actually ateable. I ordered the liver and Onions and for some reason they have changed the way they cook it. It doesn't taste good at all, they need to go back to cooking and breading it like they use too. 9/8/22 we ordered a grilled chicken salad and a personal pepperoni pizza. Our chicken for the salad tasted like jerkey, it was so over cooked my fork wouldn't go through it. My pizza was burnt! The service was horrible. Not sure what is going on with this place, but something needs to change if you want you sells! Plus my favorite waitress Donyella was let go. She had the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE out of all those people there! Always greeting you, always smiling. Some of them are angry all the time, no greeting. No smiles. And we always tip good! I wish the owner would look at this review. So he realizes something wrong is going on! 9/17/22. We had breakfast which included eggs pancake has Brown. Prior to arrival of food could hear the cook complaining not not wanting to be there..

It showed with the food that he had served.. The hash Browns were the ones which had been sitting in the corner of the grill for the past several hours.. They were beyond Brown and would be considered burnt and all of the moisture was gone from them.. The eggs had no eye appeal. The interior was clean. And there were no other customers during my visit.. This was a below standard meal as to what I normally receive with this location. They have done much better in the past.. I could not recommend this restaurant on this visitor alone..

They do offer a daily breakfast special and they used to have a happy hour type of mill. If you got there before 9 AM it is unknown to me if they still offer this..

This place was much cheaper and affordable...

Worst experience. There was 5 of us and the server Eric only put in 3 out of 5 orders. 2 of 3 he did order were right, the omelet was ordered with American cheese and he had to send it back too be fixed. It left my son and 5 year old grandson with no meals for dinner just sitting there. There should be some common sense in this but the server was lacking. We had to wait forever for what...
