It was DIRTY! I mean really dirty. There are staff there, but they never seem to come out and empty trash bins, wipe down tables, or pick up trash. I realize this is partly due to bad customers leaving their trash in a place where it's pretty much self service. But staff should be cleaning and checking as well. Also, the food was meh. Not that great, kind of boring, WAY overpriced for what it was. You could get the same thing at a Safeway deli for $5.00 less. The last part that really set my teeth on edge - we saw a rat in broad day light. Which usually means there is an infestation somewhere. The chickens were cool, but there is a whole bench area covered in chicken poop that they should really clean off because it's in the seating area, and while I know rats are attracted to chicken coops because of the food source, I feel like they should be trying to mitigate that as much as possible. I know one of the employees saw the rat as well. Not much she can do about it. But I hope the owners shift toward a more cleanliness focused mind set. Staff cleaning tables and getting trash taken out more frequently could help some. Personally, it's a cute cafe but I will not...
