We live in close by-we gave it a third try to see if there was ANY improvement just to find out it was even worse. We came in at 10:50 am/after the more popular times. We ordered 3 egg plates, 1 that was avocado toast w/2 poached eggs....guess when breakfast came...11:55 am...it's eggs, poached being 2 minute cooking time. I have worked in the restaurant business-a table of 3 people even when it is busy for a restaurant w/at the most 20 tables should take no more than 20 minutes, not 40 minutes more minutes like today that was an over an hour...they kept filling our Arnold Palmer drinks (3 times in total each) since they were walking to every table that had the drink with the ice tea in one and the lemonade in another. To add insult on top of it all, waitress walks out with her purse and no one to take her tables after the food was served over an hour later. There was no avocado layer on the thinly sliced sourdough bread...it was a watery green color goo that turned the bread green because there was no actual avocado on it - you shouldn't be able to see the bread. They took two jelly bean tomatoes and cut them in half so each toast would have four halves...I understand inflation and profit to make it in the restaurant business is hard these days - you voted for those in office and this is what you get - but, you don't make it inedible and not resemble what every other restaurant who knows how to make an avocado toast along with the other two egg plates look and not taste like watered goo. This isn't rocket science, Garden Court Cafe. The coffee mug had black mildew on the outside lip rim, yes mildew on it. When one of us went to drink the Arnold Palmer and leaned on the table, the long sleeve shirt not only was sitting in a puddle, it was staining tea, there goes that shirt...leaky glass, never cleaned the table and left a puddle from the last customer...who knows...I went up to pay the bill because there was no guarantee that would show up before closing time which is 2pm and the owner initially charged me for the wrong table and, then, had to redo it all over again. I shared with her what happened as to provide improvement, not complaint and, of course, instead of her listening past the first sentence says, "I am sorry you weren't 'happy' with your meal, There are only two people back in the kitchen"...solution, have fewer tables or hire more people. It's not about whether I am "happy". I gave you helpful solutions to your mess of a business and she can only reference "Happy"?!!! Would you be happy eating your watery goo of no avocado coloring on "toast"?! Overall a major SHITSHOW of an experience. Yes, because I have been in the restaurant business, I still provided a tip but only as the same amount as the tax - 10%. EAT ANYWHERE ELSE IN SONOMA OR...

Useless and rude staff. What a shame this was our go to place as locals before the rebuild.

Wait was 45 minutes(Sunday at 11:30 am), ok. They seated parties of 3 people like us who arrived later ahead of us, go figure… waited 20 min to get order taken and then 40 minutes and no food.

We finally left, an hour and 45 minutes and no food!!!

Lots of staff hanging around chatting, snacking but not attending to any tables.

Others who arrived after had food and were close to finishing and still no food on our table. Asked and they said with attitude “5 minutes”. Asked to speak to manger twice and they said she was cooking and not available. Watched another couple leave after waiting a similar amount of time.

I really hope to owners read this as this place will be out of business if this continues. Have the staff inform customers wait list is 45 minutes and it will be an additional hour for food service.

Staff, you do want to earn a tip??? Engage with customers, be upfront…

We are never going back, leaving this for next...

This used to be one of our go to spots. The last time we were there, my patty melt just wasn't that good. Today, it was very busy. we waited about 10-15 minutes to place our order, then waited an hour for our food. We were about to leave, but as we were standing up, the food came. The busser checked in once, nobody else did during our whole time there. They ran out of grits, told us, so we substituted potatoes. They brought out one of the Benedicts without a main component. Never said anything until we pointed it out. There was terrible communication. Basically, today...

The Garden Court Cafe is absolutely delightful! Sometimes I find in small towns that the only diner can be sub par.. The garden is not that at all. I got the chicken and waffles and the chicken was juicy and crunchy and seasoned perfectly, the waffles were crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside. The iced latte was just as good as my favorite inner city cafe at home.. The staff are so attentive and kind, and everything was priced reasonably.. I will be back :)

Bedsides delicious food from the owner to the cashier this place is a hidden gem. Located in Glen Ellen you can easily drive right past this place. The owner started working here while goi g to school and stayed on and ended up buying the business. She is kind and treats her employees like family. You can eat and watch and that’s probably why the atmosphere is so great. We enjoyed our visit and if you’re in the Sonoma area you should try a visit for breakfast or lunch

Went to the Garden Court for the very first time. Nice! It’s a good place for breakfast. I had the BLAT - Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado, Tomato sandwich, with salad and balsamic vinaigrette on the side. Delicious! Yet next time I will have the Eggs Benedict. The lavender caffe latte was interesting, I didn’t think lavender and coffee would go well together. Surprisingly they do. Also on my next visit I will try the fresh pineapple mimosa.
