Julie's Cafe Review
Julie's Cafe presents a mixed experience with some notable positives but significant drawbacks. Here's a breakdown of my visits:
Exterior and Parking: The outside of Julie's Cafe is immaculate, and there is ample parking available. They even offer a separate parking area behind a fence, which adds a sense of security and convenience.
Ordering Process: Unfortunately, the ordering process is where the cafe falters significantly. I personally prefer interacting with a person when placing my order, as it ensures my preferences are communicated clearly. Julie's Cafe, however, relies on self-service kiosks for order placement. They have two kiosks, but on both occasions, what I ordered was not what arrived on my plate. This impersonal system fails to capture special requests and preferences accurately, which is frustrating.
Order Pickup: The process for picking up orders is also flawed. When your order is ready, your name is supposed to be called, but both times I visited, my name wasn't called, resulting in delayed pickups. I had to approach the front counter each time to inquire about my order, which is inconvenient and defeats the purpose of a streamlined system.
Order Accuracy: The core issue seems to lie in the communication between the kiosk system and the kitchen. The staff in the kitchen do not seem to be reading the orders correctly from the kiosks. For instance, during my second visit, I ordered a 16-ounce coffee with almond milk and vanilla syrup but received a plain black coffee instead. When I went to pick it up, I was even asked if I wanted a creamer, which indicated they hadn't read my order details properly.
In conclusion, while Julie's Cafe has a clean exterior and convenient parking, the ordering and pickup processes need significant improvement. The reliance on kiosks over human interaction, coupled with the apparent miscommunication in the kitchen, results in a frustrating experience. I hope the management addresses these issues to enhance customer...
Read moreBEAUTIFUL RESTAURANT! Was really hesitant about the location because it is so far from me but I definitely appreciated it so much more when I got here! With the Shoppes and local Starbucks so crowded all the time, Julie's is an oasis!
You can definitely get the feel and style they were going for. Little French cafe styled with porcelain figurines and artisan china on display. The restaurant is painted in an elegant white and decorated in vintage.
French and classical music play in the background adding to the fancy feel! A comfy long bench is extended across the restaurant and decorated with comfy colored, cushiony pillows!
Now the food!! ABSOLUTELY HEAVENLY! Best bagel sandwhich I can ever ask for.
Shout out to West Coast Bagel they are the OG in Chino/ Chino Hills, but if your feeling fancy and need a nice place to meet up with friends or even CLIENTS then this is where you want to be.
Great selection of bagles but your sandwhich can come on traditional bread. Highly recommend the California Club on a Cheese Jalapeno bagel. Julies Special is perfection. Kale smoothie was the bomb! And I will come back for the Hazelnut and Columbian roast coffee alone. Such an " aaaaaaaah.." moment after your first sip. A small cup of the freshest fruit comes on the side for sandwiches. Great variety too. Kiwi, watermelon, mango, strawberry and oranges!
If your a fan of Vicky's Jalapeno chips (subway), Julie's has THE BEST KETTLE JALAPENOS CHIPS. They carry the Dirty's brand. SOOOOO GOOD! sorry Vickies... got a new fav.
Staff was incredibly friendly and we noticed how busy they were with orders. I appreciated they recognized that we were waiting a little bit longer than normal and apologized. Definitely...
Read moreThe reviews are overrated. Today is my first time and last time come here. I spent almost $50 (including tips) for unworthy & overpriced food and drinks. The owner definitely needs to hire and train more efficient helpers to get the dine in orders out promptly. After waiting for more than 25 minutes, the hot bagels are out at the counter but not yet served to my table due to missing coffee , smoothies and fruit cup according to the boss lady … I don’t understand why they cannot serve the bagels when they are hot … The “Julie’s special” tasted like I was eating out of a garbage bag: the egg was over powering, the bacon only had burnt ends which was hard and tasted like I was eating a toddler’s cooking . The breakfast combo bagel’s taste is nothing impressive with smaller portion than I expected. There is no service, and I already regretted to pay the tips. The boss lady seems doesn’t care about all the customers’ feelings and her face is not even looking happy & welcomed at all the time. I am not sure about the atmosphere because there is no music, lacking of enough tables, everyone is talking gossips loudly. Overall, this is not an enjoyable experience to me. Very disappointed at their quality of food and service, will never...
