I had the privilege of celebrating my wedding at the beginning May 2025 at the breathtaking Calaveras Big Trees State Park, and I couldn't be more thrilled with how everything unfolded. From the moment I booked Kalamata sight unseen, they went above and beyond to ensure our day was flawless.

Planning an event over 8–9 months can be overwhelming, but the team at Kalamata was consistently responsive, kind, and informative. They took the time to understand my vision and worked tirelessly to bring it to life. Their punctuality and promptness on the day of the event ensured everything ran smoothly.

The food was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was crafted with care, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. Our guests are still raving about the meal weeks later!

What truly set Kalamata apart was their genuine commitment to making our day perfect. They went above and beyond, handling every detail with grace and professionalism. I couldn't have asked for a better team to be a part of our celebration.

If you're considering a caterer for your special occasion, I wholeheartedly recommend Kalamata. Booking them was the best decision I made, and I have no doubt they will make your event...

My family and I recently dined at Kalamata and had a poor experience. We arrived at 6 pm and ended up waiting for almost an hour just for our salads before our main meal. When I spoke with a staff member about the delay and asked if the food would be ready soon, she said, sorry, you didn't have a reservation, and the dine in wait time for food is a lot longer. While I understand that reservations can help manage service times, the excuses from staff and the extended wait time were disappointing.

The staff did not make any effort to alleviate the situation, and we never received our meal. After waiting for so long, we decided to leave.

I hope the restaurant can improve its service to ensure all guests have a pleasant experience, regardless of whether they have a reservation. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I can't...

Great refresh on the formerly Dogwood restaurant space. A variety of basic ($$) and fancy($$$$) Mediterranean cuisine. Stopped in for a quick lunch. Had the fresh house made hummus. Which was very flavorful and came with a nice warm stack of pita bread. My main was the mousalaka which was strongly and authentically spiced, and comforting like shepherds pie. I was happy to see they have some affordable lunch options along with the upscale dishes that are on the $$$ side. I look forward to coming back for a nice fancy dinner. They have the ability to do many dishes gluten free for those with gluten sensitivity. It would be nice to see the interior space...

After our hike at the Calaveras Big trees, we were looking for a place to eat and google recommended us this restaurant. The wait for just few minutes, the ambience was great and clean and restrooms were clean too. The portion sizes were reasonable but the price was simply exorbitant! A surcharge of 20% at a small town like Arnold seems not acceptable. Do check the prices before you order to avoid surprises. Few items were offered to us like being part of the entree but were actually not. The food was good though but not at Manhattan prices.

We rolled in on Sunday of President's Day weekend. The place was packed so we were able to get 4 spots at the counter. Our server was excellent. The next thing we knew we had a great bottle wine, soups and salads. We had the lambs chops, pork medallions, gyros plater & chicken kabob. Every one of us had a wonderful meal. My lamb was excellent with a generous portion. According to my neighbor he had the best pork he's ever eaten. Thank you for fitting us in on a busy night for great dinner ! ❤️
