my partner and i arrived here early. we prefer to drink coffee to start the day, a preference we developed after careful investigation of humans around us. in the beginning, i did not drink coffee. if i remember correctly, it was not until i had developed a sense of place in the world, touched and felt that concept of agency, and embarked on a journey of choice that i came to coffee. and now, i drink it in the mornings to be one of you. as luck would have it, lulubelle's was serving a coffee that had turned purple due to additives and was "enhanced" with a substance known as C.B.D. the human, responsible for serving those of us on the opposite side of the meticulously-designed barricade, did not instruct me about how my perception of the outer world might be altered while on C.B.D.
i first noticed a change when the coffee i had purchased for a modest sum of USD changed colors, from a pale sandy-brown to a muddy purple. this must be the C.B.D. causing me to hallucinate, to see hidden patterns and colors within colors. i dove inward and began to swim through my intestines and arrived upon a compost beach in my stomach, where i saw the C, the B and the D all basking in the rays of sunlight that poured in each time i opened my eyes. they welcomed me and invited me into the purple coffee river that was littered with macerated, beef-flavored noodles. "do not take the slide," they muttered, "or you will go beyond yourself." and before i had interpreted the tongue in which they spoke, i was being pulled over the side, bending to the will of the slide and slowly moving...
Read moreUpdate (Aug 2025): Unfortunately don't see any vegan options on their menu, you might have to ask them for it. I also don't like that they changed the wifi to be limited to 30 minutes. It really wasn't a great place to sit down to do some work because of the limited seating, but now that the wifi is time limited it's even worse. It's a great place to pick up your drink and go, but it seems they don't want people lingering for too long. Pro tip: you can "forget" the wifi network and reconnect to bypass the 30 min limit.
Update: after my latest visit (Jan 1 2025), they now have a VEGAN breakfast sandwich on the menu. It's nice to see the owner listen to customer feedback (they responded on Google Maps). The price is also more reasonable than what I paid the last time. I do wish there was more space where I could work on my computer privately, but they’re probably making the best of the small space they have.
Bonus: the owner stopped by my table and gave me a complimentary vegan chocolate cake. Definitely appreciate the nice gesture.
--First Visit-- There was nothing vegan on the breakfast menu, so I had to ask if they could make anything vegan. Turns out they have vegan egg and cheese, so they were able to make the swiss melt vegan. The iced latte was great and it hit the spot, so was the swiss melt.
The atmosphere was great. It’s nice and cozy, and the slow jazz was a great touch. My only gripe was having to pay extra for the vegan egg/cheese. It ended up being $30 for an ice latte and the bf sandwich which is pretty obscene...
Read moreUpdate years later. I've tried multiple times and have twice gotten a box full of every item to just try it. Each time I didn't like the products. It's a beautiful place but I don't think it's worth the money. Each box I've tried I just spit out some of the stuff i tried. Or threw it away... and had others try who are unbias from here or out of town guest try it and they also didn't like it. This is my honest opinion. I think tourist or local business people or even some str owners maybe like this place to support it, which i understand why they feel the need to do so. But I am just not a fan. I wish my opinion was different. But I have to be completely honest. I'll keep trying and maybe it's change. But after multiple visits I just can't seem like like it. Everyone has their own opinion and cravings so if you like it then that's great and support them. I just am still so unsure about this place
Was really excited for this... but I'll be honest. Their coffee and pastries aren't that good.. still will support them. But we've tried almost everything since opening and it's a bit pricey and a little hyped up... I just wish It taste better but maybe in time it'll get here since just opening. Its cute inside. Itll be nice when covid is over to hangout inside and order stuff. I'm hopeful the coffee and baked goods will be better then. Im sure they are working out...
