9/4/20 at 4:11pm: I had my disabled niece with me and wanted to avoid a long wait and so I ordered my food online for pick up. I went to Panda Express at Marconi and Eastern. My 20-year old niece is Autistic with Cerebral Palsy and cannot stand long. There was only one table and 2 chairs available for people to sit in and two Panda Express employees were sitting in them when we arrived. There were chairs stacked to the side so I pulled one out for my niece to sit in while we waited for our food; which wasn't ready even though I had ordered it online 1hour prior to pick-up. The manager Jane came over and said to my niece, "You cannot sit there. You cannot sit." This confused and upset my niece and I asked Jane the manager for a reasonable accommodation while we waited for our food because my niece was disabled (I was standing and my niece was sitting and we were both wearing masks). The manager Jane said, "You go out to car and wait and I bring you food." No one else was asked to wait in their car for their to-go order. Anyone who was standing was allowed to wait for their food inside the restaurant. This is ableism/discrimination ! There is no Governor's order stating that people cannot sit in restaurants and wait for their "to-go orders." There is no difference between someone standing and wearing a mask or someone sitting and wearing a mask while waiting to pick up their order. While my niece and I waited in the car I had to call the store at 4:24pm to say we still hadn't gotten our food which I had ordered and paid for online at 3:00pm (it was supposed to be ready no later than 4:15pm). At 4:28pm a male cashier delivered my food. The female manager, Jane, did not come to my car and deliver the food to us herself as promised and I wanted to talk to her about what she did wrong. Jane what you did was wrong! You cannot make someone sit in a car for their order just because they are disabled and must sit in a chair instead of stand while waiting for their to-go order. We were both wearing masks and I had ordered my food online an hour prior so it should've been ready! It's not like we had food out on the table or were going to eat there. All we asked was that my niece be allowed to sit in a chair while we waited for an order that should've been ready the minute we walked in. Instead you made my niece feel like she didn't belong. For 3 days my niece cried and asked what she did wrong. F*ck you Jane the manager at Panda Express on Marconi and...
Read moreWell, you have finally lost a long time family of customers. We have gone to eat at this place 2-4 times a month, since the grand opening. The old manager used to greet us as we entered(the wife and I are very tall people, and noticable). I always round up my total to give to whatever charity you have going on at the time. However, since the pandemic, we have noticed that online orders are prioritized over customers in the actual restaurant. You know like on a Saturday evenings, when the line is all the way around the lobby, and we have to wait 30+ minutes just to get up to the first person starting our orders, and they tell us to wait again, and start the online orders. Multiple times, we have waited over 10 minutes, while the person apologizes profusely, and processes the next order that popped up on the machine. They most often, when finally done, and getting to our orders, yep, there are no dishes left, and we got to wait again, for food to be cooked, so our plates can get processed. A few times, once the food was cooked again, you guessed it, online orders were also thrown to the front of the que, even though our plates are half made, and ahead of those online orders, they still prioritize getting those online orders filled first, and then we are told we have to wait a second time, for more food to be cooked. I've heard so many people while in line say this will be their last visit, and I've seen dozens of times where customers angrily walk out the door. Well, we've had enough. There are plenty of Asian food places where we aren't standing in line for close to an hour, only to be passed over when it's our turn to get our food. Or you will see someone walk to the end of the line, notice it's taking forever, and place a online order for pickup, and is out of the 5 minutes later. Hell, Doordash and ubereats takes part yourp profits, where you dont split profits with anyone for people who visit in person, yet you still prioritize online orders at less of a profit to you. So yeah, don't eat here, unless you had your workout for the day already. Because you will be in line forever, and feel like shyt, because you are constantly passed over for getting your food, then waiting for food to get remade, sometimes...
Read moreI'm giving a one star rating because everytime I come to this location, the same person treats me rudely. An hour before close they only had a few things left (everything at the small/entrance station). That's fine with me, so I said okay to that because I understand they were staying on top of their closing tasks. The portions were small based on what I had recieved in the past. So I kindly asked her to give a little more. She rolled her eyes and glared at me. She paused, then she gave me a little more food. And made sure to look back up at me and glare at me the whole way to the register. I was so put off by her bad energy that I said "please don't look at me like that. You're being rude. Usually i get more than that. Im not trying to make things hard for you." She ran over my sentence and said that she is restricted to certain portion controls. Again, I'm cool with portion control. I used to work in fast food for years. If panda went down on their portion sizes, that's fine. I just wish she hadn't been so mean. Also, she could've told me about portion controlling when i first asked for more and that would have been fine. This is the same person who whenever I ask for extra sauce or a soda cup or literally anything, she gives me an attitude about it. So I told her that she treats me like this everytime i come to this location. She cut off my sentence and said "have a goodnight" and she walked away. I cannot emphasize how hard she was glaring at me, like she hated me. Which as a minority, it reminded me of what it feels like to get hate stares. I mean seriously, I understand how hard these jobs can be. I've had my fair share of difficult customers. But I wasn't even being difficult. She was so mean for no reason. Never...
