I have eaten in top rated fine dining restaurants as well as hole in the wall dives. I enjoy a wide range of ethnic foods. This was my second and LAST visit to this business. I really wanted to like it as I try to support small family businesses. I ordered jasmine tea with dinner. It was concentrated (for their boba drinks). I told the young girl it was too strong and I could not drink it. She said "I'll water it down". I watched as she poured half out and refilled with hot water. This is not how you make a pot of jasmine tea. Needless to say, I still could not drink it. I was not asked what else I wanted, nor offered anything else to drink besides my water. BTW, I only saw 2 young girls in the front of the restaurant and 1 of age man from the kitchen the whole time I was there. No experienced, adults were present. When my dinner arrived (the same dish I ordered the time before) it had a very foul odor. My instincts told me not to eat it. When asked if I needed anything, I told the young girl that there was something not right about the food. She just walked away. I finished my egg rolls and went to the desk to pay. When asked if everything was good, I said no, it wasn't and explained that there was something definitely wrong with the food. I told her that I would pay for what I had eaten, but not for the rest. She shrugged her shoulders and presented me with the full bill. I reiterated that there was something wrong with the ingredients and I did not feel safe eating the food. There was no apology nor adjustment to the bill. When I presented my debit/credit card, I was informed of the additional 50 cent service fee. Are you kidding me? Am I the only one that knows it is illegal to charge this fee on a debit card? I paid with cash instead. I was given a scripted "thank you" and told "see you again". "No, NO you won't!" I said in disbelief, "I will not be coming back". Then I hear another "Thank you". I turned around and said, "You're thanking me for telling you I'm not coming back"?...
Read moreI came to this place because of the reviews and the 4.7 rating, but I should have read more carefully. The sandwiches were very small, and the meat was poor quality. My daughter had to spit out the pork sandwich because the meat was full of fat and gristle. The pho soup portion was also small and had barely any vegetables.
But the worst part came when it was time to pay. They said they didnât have a cash register, so they asked us to pay through Zelle or Venmo. Then, a dish that was listed at $8.25 on the menu â the same menu given to us by the person who charged us â was charged at $11. They claimed all the dishes were actually $1 more because âeverything is more expensive now,â plus tax. Another item listed at $15.50 was charged at $17.
Honestly, it was a big disappointment. If you hand out a menu with prices, you should honor them. Taxes should be added at the end of the bill, not individually to each dish. Overall, a very disappointing and questionable experience. Finally, after I had already made the payment, she wanted me to make another transfer because she said she hadnât received anything â even though I was showing her that the money had already been deducted from my bank account. Iâm never...
Read moreMe and my love one visit this place (PhoâTam) for the first time due to we both miss eating Vietnamese food, we ordered P.1 and M.7
The P.1 soup was great, one of the best, I can say But the â flat noodlesâ was expired ! Q: How do you know that the flat noodles is expired? A: It tastes like sour, stinky and your tummy got hurt thatâs how you know!
I didnât complain about this until I finished paying my food and she asked me how was the food? Once I told her, she raised her voice and said âNOâ many many times, we cook fresh everyday, she explained, she even said âwe open new bag, they all new!!! She pointed to every table in the restaurant and said âthey all have the same!â
I felt like I wasted my time eating in this restaurant and wasted my time listening to this lady fight back to meâŚ
Imagine I decided not to complain because I donât want to take advantage from what she said since the beginning â if food good gives good reviews, if food bad no pay!ââŚ
I admire the old lady who work in the kitchen, she came out to help serve the food sometime
Goodbye PhoâTan⌠Owning a business is cool but caring for customersâ...
