Rick's Hacienda Restaurant — Restaurant in California

My son took me to Rick's earlier this year. I was very surprised at finding Mexican food this good! Rick's has a small bar in the rear of the dining room. Seating was quick and very comfortable.

I noticed lots of family's eating here. The menu is large, with lots of authentic Mexican dishes. From posole to menuda. We were served drinks chips and salsa within 5 minutes of being seated. We asked for time before ordering, which we needed with so many tasty choices.

I finally settled on the tamales, relleno and chicken enchilada. It came with rice and choice of beans. Justin had the 3 enchilada plate, which was huge! Terisa had a quesadilla, tamale and a big taco stuffed with meat and cheeses. It was yummy!

The service is very good. Our drinks were refilled frequently. And the hot flour chips were perfectly fried and greaseless. Our waitress, after I told her how good they were, handed me a bag full of them!

Came here on a friday night to have dinner with a group of friends. The waiter was rude. Very impatient with us and not very polite. He asked us if we had our IDs and my husband didnt bring his ID. But we were all clearly over 21. And I go ahead and ask for 2 drinks for myself and my husband. And the waiter just stares at us to make sure that I dont my husband one of the drinks. I proceeded to share my drink with my husband and the waiter comes to our table and tried to take the second drink away from me. And that was rude and I told the waiter that there was no need to do all that I can share my drink with my husand. He proceeds to take both drinks away and wanted me to pay for them I declined to pay because I didnt even finish my drink and I had one full drink left so I felt I didnt need to pay for it. I felt like he was rude he could have asked I understand my husband didnt have his ID but my husband wasnt even drinking all the drink he only took a couple sips. We all look of age. We unfortunately went on a Sunday evening which is a karaoke night and the volume of the music was like being next to the speaker at a big concert. It was so loud that we couldn't even talk to the person in the chair next to us. We even asked the manager if it could be turned down just a little and nothing happened. Our waiter was nice, but our food was very bland. My moms plate was cold and the shredded chicken was tasteless. It was a very very disappointing night. To top it off we watched a VERY intoxicated man come in...he shouldn't have been out at all...he couldn't even walk, but they served him more beer!!!! He ended up sitting next to us and yelling the songs and dancing erratically and almost knocked into my toddler's high chair.
