THIS IS JUST A SUGGESTION TO THE OWNERS OF 'ROCKY'S ROADHOUSE' IT IS MID SUMMER HERE IN THE MOUNTAINS...SATURDAY NIGHT AROUND 8:30PM...I HAVE GUESTS UP FOR THE WEEKEND WHOM I HAVE BEEN BRAGGING TO ABOUT THE AWESOME SANDWICHES MADE AT YOUR VERY COMFY, FRIENDLY AND CLEAN RESTAURANT HERE IN RUNNING SPRINGS..WE ALL ARE HUNGRY FOR A 'ROCKY'S ITALIANO'....BUT TO OUR DISAPPOINTMENT. YOU ARE CLOSED.... WE ALL KNOW THINGS TEND TO SHUT DOWN EARLY AROUND HERE IN THESE HILLS...BUT EVEN JENSEN'S IS OPEN UNTIL 10PM ON A SATURDAY NITE! WE ARE REALLY BUMMED, BUT HAVE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I BELIEVE THAT YOUR BUSINESS WOULD PROSPER IF OPEN AT LEAST UNTIL 10PM ON A FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT ..ESPECIALLY DURING THE SUMMER WHEN DAYLIGHT IS ALMOST UNTIL 8:15PM AND THE WEATHER IS WARM AND PEOPLE LOVE TO EAT LATER IN THE SUMMER AND SIT OUTSIDE DURING THE EVENING ALONG WITH A NICE COLD DRAFT BEER!! JUST SAYIN'...HOPE YOU CONSIDER CHANGING YOUR SCHEDULE TO ACCOMMODATE AT LEAST US...

Rocky's Roadhouse is not a Subway...it's way better.

The sandwich menu covers the basic choices plus a few interesting house specialty sandwiches and some hotdogs.

I opted for the Rocky's Italian, which is a cold sandwich, and my order was written down on a to go bag. One can also opt for the Italian Stallion, which is the same sandwich served hot.

The RI came on a nice and soft hoagie roll, with a good amount of meat and veggie toppings, then juiced up with a nice oil and vinegar, topped with S&P. The sandwich had to be 12" long! The RI was very good, and filling. I thought I'd take 6" to go, but opted to eat the entire sandwich since I had no place to keep my sandwich cool for the rest of the day.

The RI came in at $14.99, plus an ice tea, so my total was about $18.75.

I look forward to my next trip to Running Springs so I can try out Rocky's Woodcarver sandwich wich features BBQ beef, giardiniera,...

Went there today by recommendation of the local camp, Ponderosa Pines. The atmosphere screamed "locals eat here", which is exactly what I look for when I eat at a city I am visiting. I was really nervous as a primarily plant based patron, and the first thing you see is a deli counter full of meat and cheese, and a hanging menu full of every sandwich I would have loved in my carnivorous days. However, upon further there were two vegetarian options: the Veggie Sandwich and the Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich. I chose the Veggie Sandwich, and was pleasantly surprised! It was the best Veggie Sandwich I have ever eaten! The veggies were really fresh and the dressing added a kick of flavor. I will definitely be back for another...
