Arrived before dinner crowd. Menus brought to table, waiter left and didn’t return for 15-20 minutes. In that time, no beverage was offered. Once order was taken, waiter disappeared again. Food was terrible. We ordered StuffedAvocado Shrimp Salad (which was a giant plate of mixed greens, an over ripe avocado, shrimp meat, dressing. We were not offered bread with the salad. The waitress left for another 20 minutes. When the main entrees arrived( Shrimp Scampi: Shrimp overcooked in soupy gloppy sauce; Cedar Planked Salmon: Salmon very tender moist, served over gloppy risotto spinach rice). Bread was served with the meal(one small section of sourdough bread cut in 4 small slices, because I asked for bread when salad plates were removed). Water glasses refilled once during an almost 2 hour stay( not by our choice), at table. When we finished our entrees, no desert or coffee offered. Bill was not brought to table. We waited for more than 20 minutes after we finished our meal for the bill which never arrived. We had to walk up to counter before our waitress brought the bill. She never asked if we enjoyed the meal. We spent almost $$100.00.. Red Lobster is much better food, much better service, better prices. One plus for Scopazzis: Really nice ambiance....that’s all the restaurant...

We started by ordering some Peroni beers that on the menu said were draught, but the waitress brought bottles. Okay, so the supply chain is impacted, we understand. This should have been brought to our attention first. Next, we ordered the Caesar salad for two, which is prepared tableside as tradition dictates. We were disappointed that the oil used for the dressing was lowly soy oil and not olive oil, as you would expect from Italy. Even the waiter agreed that it's mostly used because it is cheaper. Overall unimpressive and we left half on our plates. My husband ordered the ravioli with Genovese sauce, which arrived in a timely fashion after the salad. The ravioli was overcooked and the sauce was quite bland. I was certain that it tasted as if it came from a can. He didn't eat more than a third before becoming discouraged and leaving the rest. Now, having a less than a satisfactory meal is one thing, but not at these prices! This isn't home cooking, and certainly not Italian flavors. This restaurant is nowhere near as good as any of the other Italian places in the Santa Cruz area. I will say that the wait staff was very cheerful, knowledgable and accessible, but that doesn't make up for lousy...
Read morePros: Beautiful interior. Absolutely gorgeous. Wait staff was friendly. Clean bathrooms. Good parking. Brunch came with a chocolate muffin. That was a nice surprise.
Cons: It took forever to get the food even tho it wasn't crowded at all.
God awful brunch. Bad food. Undercooked potatoes. Average eggs. They forgot part of my meal. The toast was cardboard. For a place that looked so fancy, I'd expect something that was decent. If I can cook better than the restaurant, then it's not worth the money.
They brought everyone's food out except one person and she had to wait a long while. We'd already been waiting a long time. So this meant we had to wait even longer than we already had been waiting.
It was way too hot inside. I actually got up and left before the rest of the table and sat in my car with the AC to cool off waiting for everyone. I get that this place is an old building and climate change means it's hotter but I couldn't deal. If that were the only problem, it would be understandable. But the food was just bad.
Came home and had terrible diarrhea. I probably shouldn't have eaten the half cooked potatoes, but I was just so hungry.
Never going...
