I would like to start out by saying that the food at Tapatios is delicious, and we have been going there for a while now. I love the siete mares soup! I generally get the same lady and she knows my voice, what I like to order, is pleasant. However this last visit will unfortunately be our last. I understand tough days, and that people make mistakes , but what I cannot understand is poor customer service, and valuing a few dollars over keeping a customer. I called in our order, we picked it up after a long day.out. When we got home, I quickly realized that they had given me the wrong soup. I called in and spoke to a man that didn’t seem like he felt bad about this mixup, but said to bring the soup back to exchange it. I figured, he might just be busy, or frustrated that the lady in the front, whom I had never seen before, mixed it up. So, I was understanding, and even apologized to him and said I was sure it was a misunderstanding. When we went back, there was no parking so we had to park down the street, and I had to walk to the restaurant. I get there and the lady barely apologized and told me that she needed to charge me $4 more dollars. I know they are a small mom and pop, but I have never heard of an establishment making a mistake and then charging the customer for it. I explained that my purse was in the car down the road, and asked her politely if she was serious about charging me for their mistake. She barely spoke to me, and I was getting very frustrated. She was going over the prices and said that the soup I wanted was $12.95. I asked her, "wasn’t the soup $9.95", because that is what I remember it always being. She said she didn’t know, and one of the men in the back said yeah, like 2 years ago, which I found to be quite rude. So I walked back to my car, got the card went back, expressed how I was unhappy that they would charge me after I had wasted my time going home, having to go back out and find a spot etc, and it wasn’t even my mistake. I know what I said, it’s the thing I order most from them. They gave me beef soup, I have never even heard of beef soup, and it doesn’t sound that appetizing, so I know I would have never said that. She barely paid attention to me, just scanned my card and handed me my food. I asked if the owner was around and she pointed at a person behind the wall that I couldn’t see, I asked if I could talk to them, but she just said he was busy talking to someone. Someone else behind there must have heard me because a man came over and just looked at me. I asked him if he was the manager, and he nodded. No name, no handshake, he just looked at me. I explained why I was upset, he said the lady heard beef soup. I explained that I didn’t say beef soup, that I go there all of the time, and that it was very upsetting that they would charge me extra for their mistake. He just said that that was their policy. The lack of empathy and customer service was quite shocking, especially from a man that said he was the owner. I told him "I guess I was going to have to find another taco shop to go to then", and walked away, to which I could hear him say that he was sorry. Which was the first time he had said it. I was pretty upset by this, I know it seems quite trivial given all the things that life can throw at you, but I honestly expected more from them. I thought I was a good valued customer, but apparently not so much. I guess $4 bucks was worth losing a good loyal customer. It stinks too because they really do make the best siete mares I have ever had, but there is no way I would go back after the way I feel I was treated. So to sum things up, the food is great, and I have had generally good experiences there, but just hope there is not a problem with your order because you might wind up having a similar experience than I’ve had. Then again, maybe not. I wish them and you the...
Read moreI have been a loyal costumer for over 10 years. But I will never be coming back again!!
Every time I come in this specific cashier is completely disrespectful. I don’t know if he’s racist or sexist but literally every time I come in and no one is in the restaurant he will see me, won’t acknowledge me, will pick up a rag and then start slowly wiping down the counters… I mean slowly. All the counters. I know my food is ready because I called it in 10-15 minutes before. So by this point it’s getting cold and I’m waiting to pay.
Even if someone is in front of me, he will help them then when it gets to me he will do the same exact thing! Pick up a rag and begin wiping. I don’t know if he’s on something or really just has a vendetta against me.
I’ve never seen him do it to a man and he was very polite to an older blonde lady.
I’ve always been polite and respectful, why wouldn’t I be? I don’t know him but now its just ridiculous. And I always use to tip! I stopped tipping and now I just won’t ever go there again or recommend to anyone.
