The Flame Diner — Restaurant in California

This is the second time we've been waited on by Mary the owner's wife. Both times she was extremely rude. She took our order and then sat down in a booth and watched her phone with the volume so high we could barely hear each other talk. Some kind of Turkish music. The other waitress brought our food out, took our empty plates, and refilled our coffee. When we went to pay our bill the other waitress was taking an order and Mary saw me standing there, but continued to watch her phone. After a few minutes, she got up, but she was extremely rude. Needless to say, I don't think we'll be visiting there again. She really needs to work on her customer service skills. I've heard others complain about her. It doesn't make me want to come back anytime soon. The window seals had flies and there was food all over the floor and the booths were dirty. Nobody was cleaning up. We went to the flame today for lunch my husband and I, and it was quite delicious and delightful! I noticed the addition of a new waitress I had never met and she was very pleasant and diligent about her job. The food was great with the exception of actual real mashed potatoes which you can't hardly find anywhere they're always flakes. But the breading on the chicken was light and crispy and perfect and I appreciated her mentioning the extra amount of time it would take to Fresh fry the chicken which was no problem for me. Their iced tea was absolutely delicious! I went here with my cousin. I am glad he suggested it. I ordered the chopped steak with mashed potatos and brown gravy and a salad. Everything was done perfectly. The mattress was nice. They had really good tasting tea. My cousin had half a fried chicken and a salad . It looked great, and he said it tasted great . One reason for going was to verify for ourselves that on Fridays, throughout the lent season, they have walleye on Fridays.
