This is real bbq, which is hard to come by in this area.

Brisket was fantastic, we had a piece off the point and it was really juicy with great bark. If you have never had brisket, this is the place to try it. It’s the highlight which should tell you everything about a bbq place.

Pulled pork was also very good, juicy and flavorful. I’m not a huge pulled pork fan, I sometimes think pork shoulder is hard to get a lot of smoke into but they nailed it.

Ribs were good, they were fall off the bone. I prefer mine to have a little tug off the bone but I know fall off the bone is desired among most people. The meat was great though, and again really nice bark.

Chicken was a tad dry but understandable as chicken is tough to keep moist in the pit. Flavor was still good and this was the only meat I used sauce on, which was nice to try them all out.

Sausage was a favorite at our table, I only had a small piece as I filled up on the other meats.

Cornbread was very dense, almost like a dessert. Loved it.

Beans and mac and cheese were good enough, didn’t stand out like the meat but we easily finished them. No complaints here.

Overall you can tell the owners actually have a lot of experience smoking meat and making real bbq. There isn’t a brisket in Pittsburgh that rivals this one, and I’ve tried just about every place. Hopefully I can pick the owners brain and get some tips for my own bbq I enjoy doing. Living only 10 minutes away, I will be a...

Bbq or mexican? I asked the wife, lets try this bbq place, ok im in. We arrive to a pretty full place and a live band ( that was awesome btw ). We tried a few beers ( again all tasted great as it was a brewery) now il tell you personally im not a huge ipa fan i tasted 5 beers, had all 5 in full form and they all were awesome ( thats a first for me ). Servers were quick, nice and super helpful as it was our first time. Ordered an app and a meal. Pick 3 and a brisket cheese steak. Let me tell you the ribs fell off the bone, brisket was awesome the wings were top notch and there sauses they offer were all the best. As where hear i asked who owns the place?? Well there working there butt off as well with the staff . I was able to hold tyler ( the owner) hostage and taked biz with him as well as the history and make up of the place. His dad is the brew master and he and his wife are there besides his employees making sure its a great meal/time. As a business owner as well i cannot stress enough please give this place a try. Employees are happy, the food is top 3 bbq i ever had ( i travel a bit so iv been around more than not) the homemade brews are all great!! I have to say nothing has gotten easier in time and the fact that this couple ( family) has put it all out there to try and give you a great lunch/ dinner please support them and let them thrive. Theres honestly not enough of...

Absolutely LOVE this place! It’s a local stop that my dad and I enjoy for our infrequent visits together catching up; truly a special place I get to have special moments in.

Quite honestly I find myself getting a craving here and there for their tasty BBQ menu… and no I cannot pick a favorite and have to get the sliders to enjoy the options. And will definitely be back to get myself some of their homemade sauce to take home! Their beer is just as good as the food and just makes for a great meal that would even bring someone back that doesn’t like BBQ or beer!

Their venue is very “home-y” and follows their “Back-Home” name. Very open space overall, good bit of bar seating, tons of regular seating, and even some out door seating! Their staff is always super kind and enjoyable to have conversation with! Always love a funny story and chat with owner Tyler as well (always guaranteed a good laugh when we visit).

I’m looking forward to joining in on their open mic nights and hopefully booking as a regular musician there. But, do know plenty of local musicians and friends that have been booked there and it proves that they also have GREAT taste in music as well!

All the best wishes for business and hope that everyone makes sure to stop in at this local...

As a former Texas resident, I can’t say enough great things about this bbq. I didn’t get a picture of the Beast Feast plate because we dug right in, but every single thing we had was amazing (our sides were Mexican street corn and the mac & cheese). We loved every sauce we tried as well, even buying a pint of their stout bbq to go, and appreciated the Texas / Carolina hybrid across the entire menu. The fried pickles were also GREAT. They’re a very thin cut and the ranch they’re served with was perfect. We also loved every beer we sampled and loved the detailed and fun descriptions. This place feels like the owners really put their heart into it and made it feel like home. It was incredibly clean, and every worker met us with kindness and promptness. This place is really a hot spot to visit. Can’t wait to return!

I do understand this is a grand opening, to be served a beer was 25 minutes. We order our appetizer and meal all at once. It took 2 hours to get our meal. The fried pickles we got were so thinly sliced I only tasted oil and breading not the pickle. My husband got the hungry man meat with two sides. He got the meat no sides and said the meat plus 4 sauces were good. I got chicken tacos with a apple jalapeños sauce. I was please with fresh cilantro and the flavoring. I was feeling our service was terrible when I saw a young lady serving the outside guest quickly. When we asked for our bill my husband asked if he was getting his sides to go. For two bites in the tiny containers I was shocked. Guess we will have to try when thy hype dies down.

Meg was the waitress/wife to the chef behind the idea/master of all trades/hostess with the mostess. Truly a family establishment. The husband/owner/chef, Tyler’s culinary creations are a delicious blend of flavors from their previous homes in Texas and North Carolina. So glad they came “Back Home” to PA to start this adventure. I love a good BBQ place and this one has me wanting to go back for more. I had the brisket sammie with fries with the special watermelon bbq sauce. The rest of my party had various things and we all left talking about how good each item was. We really enjoyed the covered side patio. Go give it a try!
