Elbow Room — Restaurant in Calumet Township

I went on Saturday night...this wasn't the spot to be turnt and twerking. It wasn't ole school RnB...more like "old skool Soul" Its a local bar with lots of locals. No Cover, Single occupancy Restroom and DJ seemed to be just someone in the booth playing random songs mostly swinging and stepping music with playing all way the out as if he had to flip the 45 and change it on a phonograph. Enough about the DJ. The atmosphere was very pleasing, 1 Bartender that was busy all night but quick and on it. I ordered non alcoholic 2 drinks $9 total. From the kitchen window I ordered catfish and fried mushrooms $15 The fish was seasoned well but mushrooms were rubbery. Over all a nice spot to meetup and socialize. BUT....for me, it wasn't a party place...just a gathering place with music...

Is a nice place where you can have you some drinks and not have to worry about fights dodging bullets. It's a chill environment you can dance and have fun and have a good drink. It's not many places you could get a good drink at but the Elbow Room is wondering. They also have good food there . They have two or three people in different stuff cooking in the kitchen, so it's a fun environment where you get a drink and Something to eat. Yes the Elbow Room is open and it opens up at 10:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday. Monday through Thursday they close at 10:00 and Friday and Saturday they close at 2:30 in the morning. The Elbow Room is a Lounge located in Gary Indiana. It's mainly a venue for stepping and consists of mostly an older crowd. On some nights smoking is allowed. I've seen this on a Thursday night but don't recall this on Friday or Saturday evenings. Ventilation system is decent so after smoking stops there is no residual odor. drinks are a generous pour so it will not take you a lot of money or a lot of time to get to where you're going 😁. Food is also served at an additional fee. Pricing for food is relatively decent. Quality of food is decent as well.
