If you're looking for retro sewing notions or vintage buttons for a project, this is absolutely your place. I got really fantastic mirrored 1970s buttons here for a 70s coat, and they draw frequent compliments. There are buttons from the funky brass to the red plastic train-shaped here. I also scored a sew-on patch shaped like an apple core (way cuter than it sounds).
They have a selection of fabric here, and do custom sewing and alterations. I haven't used those services so I can't vouch for them, but I get the sense that's the bread and butter of their business. They've had multiple people busy sewing both times that I've visited.
In addition to the sewing supplies, they have a small-but-colorful selection of accessories. I got a rhinestone brooch and a large clip-on flower with a pearl in it. My friend got four pairs of patterned knee socks for his wife, and they were 4 for $10 on the day we visited. They also had winter hats, kufis, headbands, and handkerchiefs with different church roles (i.e. "deacon," "first lady," "dancer") lettered on them. And I got a birthday card for a friend from their greeting card rack.
The proprietor was very friendly. If you need some interesting/retro buttons for a project, this is your place. If you're in the area often, this is the kind of handy little shop that it's good to know about, because they just might have something you need...
