I'm rating two stars because yes the restaurant was clean as far as we could tell and the employees weren't rude and I didnt have to make the food myself so I guess theres that...
We went to this Del Taco for a late lunch and service was mostly fine. The salad wasnt good which yeah why go to Del Taco for a salad but that doesn't excuse the brown soggy clear lettuce and "avocado ranch" that looked an unnatural green color and was not only warm but tasted as though there was a hint of vinegar in it... it also doesnt excuse the employee dropping half the lettuce on the line and then awkwardly looking at me and smirking trying to figure out if I had noticed or cared and then trying to non chalantly put said lettuce into the salad bowl... I didnt say anything I was just hoping it was at least clean.. who knows if it was considering Del Taco is notoriously known for having cockroaches... 🙄
As well as my friend going up to order a burrito and the employee being completely unhelpful.
I'm really tired of going places and employees acting clueless...
We wanted a bean meat and cheese burrito off the dollar menu so the employee states to my friend that our only option is a $4 burrito that has beef beans and cheese... and my friend said no I just want a burrito off the dollar menu... employee: well there are no burritos that have meat in them on the dollar menu soooo....
My friend is socially awkward and just decided to get it anyway... but as someone who has worked in fast food before.. how hard is it to suggest that someone add beef to the f*ing beans rice and cheese burrito for a dollar more... rather than charging someone $4 who only wanted to spend $1.....
I know this sounds like a small thing like who cares... but when you work in customer service yes your job is to make the company money but even more so it's your job to make sure the guest leaves feeling good not like they had to make all the suggestions and ask a billion questions and then leave feeling like they got overcharged and even that's their fault... it seems like theres a new no ask, dont tell policy at every business and the customers are the ones having to take the initiative or get screwed over...
I know I sound crazy enraged over 1 burrito but it's not about the burrito it's about ALL the places with people in customer service who dont know the first thing about hospitality...
When you go to an establishment whether its food or clothing or whatever it is you should be trying to make the customer feel like they're at you're home... "would you like some water...? can I get you anything else?... May I suggest...?" Etc etc etc... not "yeah what can I get for you...? We dont have that.............. " I'll just stand here and wait for you to figure it out... let me know what you decide.......... and the freaking attitude of "wow you want nothing well thanks for wasting my time... and also I dont care if you never come back less...
Read moreUnfortunately came to del taco of course to have a burrito and a chicken taco. I grab their sampler box for 6$! Why.... because who doesn’t like del tacos fries, I honestly ate the whole box. I go to enjoy the last bit of fries... because who leaves fries behind. Just kidding but In all seriousness I was chewing on the last bit fries and I see my fingers super greasy. I say this because The two fries have been dropped. Those fries caught one hair or something, it was not my hair I have black hair this was brown hair. Lupe or Lupita the one who was in charge at the time I spoke too asking for a refund since I already ate all the food haha. She offered to refund the fries I said I want the whole meal refunded, we went back and fourth I had no luck. She kept her ground I did not get the full refund or the refund for the fries just because that’s not what I asked for. I appreciate her trying to help me out but that’s not acceptable. I would have been embarrassed as a person in charge at the time but she was not giving a sense of sincere apology. I worked at a del taco before, only for a couple of months. What I learned working at del taco if we made a mistake would go above and beyond to show we are truly sorry. Lupe the Shift lead was not. She failed to express any sense of apology. I did not get one “ I’m sorry sir” or “we did not mean for that to happen” . Leaving the store I said have a good day, she said have a blessed day. I liked that! I went in again asking for a receipt since I was not given one at the window. I did not ask because I was not expecting this to happen. I walked back in asking for that receipt. I was informed that I could not get one back since their “new system” you can not re-print the receipts. I said ok let me get the stack of receipts building up printing out I will find my own. Lupe said she can not due creditcard numbers on those documents. I understood fully and said ok have a great day. She goes on to say have an amazing day. This time it was said in a way that she felt good about having a valued customer leave her store unhappy.

Read moreI was in a rush so needed something I could eat while I was on the freeway driving + it was late in the afternoon and had to get something since I haven't had anything at all to eat! I really didn't care for the bean and cheese burrito. It had more cheese than beans and when I bit into the burrito the 1st. Half was ALL Tortilla. The Burrito didn't have much flavor. So I wasn't to impressed with them at all! Maybe if they added a bit more Beans and they would have spread out the Beans and Cheese on to the whole the Tortilla and not just clumped it all into 1 spot maybe it could have been a little better? Not by much but maybe just a little? But to be a little or somewhat Fare I wasn't really craving Del Taco but they were the only Drive Thru fast-food place in the shopping center. There was a Panda Express and a Baja Fresh in the same shopping center but neither 1 of those had a Drive Thru so there was only one clear choice if I didn't want to have to stop get down and go inside some place. So I chose Del Taco because I wanted something that I could grab, go and hop on the Freeway! The 2 closest places were McDonald's, they were on the other side of the Freeway, and I'm not really a big fan of McDonald's. And the other place was In-N-Out, they were a few blocks away, I would have loved to have gone there but let's face it In-N-Out Berger's aren't really the best Berger's to try and eat while you are trying to drive! They are a little to messy to try and eat while trying to drive at the same time! At least it's not that easy for me! So it's why I went...
