McCarthy's & Toad — Restaurant in Cambridge

I was in Boston visiting my boyfriend looking for some good live music. They refused to serve me because they insisted that my out of state license was fake. I offered to show them another government ID as well as all of my debit and credit cards with matching names, but he refused. Then, he proceeded to go to the bar next door to "warn" them that a girl with a fake ID was trying to get in. A frustrating and negative experience. Friendly neighborhood bar with FREE live music. I like the music (type varies from Americana to rock to folk) which is preformed by competent regional talent. It can get very crowded on Friday and Saturday (when they have two groups); prices are more than fair and when not too busy, the service is very good.
