This place is great! Sarah's has both a convenience store (the market) and a little diner-style restaurant (the café).
The Market: Just what you might expect for a corner store, plus a surprisingly eclectic selection of international products. Tucked away in the corner, they also have a wonderful selection of craft beer, both from local New England as well as far away breweries (they always have Stone... I love Stone). Their wine selection also seems to be extensive, but I'm not particularly knowledgable and never buy wine.
The Cafe: I get breakfast and coffee here nearly every morning. The guys working behind the counter are incredibly friendly. The coffee is good (nothing amazing, but consistent). They use Boar's Head meats and cheeses for their meals, and have a great selection of omelets and breakfast stuff (served all day), as well as sandwiches and other lunch/dinner stuff (I haven't tried as many of those). I usually stick to the same meal (Eggs, bacon, potatoes), but when I have branched out, everything I've ever had has...

I ordered a tuna panini. I did ask for tomato to be added and it was not, but my sandwich came with a side salad with tomato and cucumbers and onions so I was content.
The albacore tuna was delicious and had onions and spices in it (well seasoned). The havarti was SO fresh and tasty, and the portions were large! The avocado was a bit harder but I honestly was so full I couldn’t eat it all anyway.
All this for $14.90 with tax! I got a spindrift and alternative baking company cookie (these are vegan, if that’s important to you) from the market attached, and dinner was served.
Did t have room for the cookie, but it’ll be for another time :-).
Fully accessible.
Metered parking on the streets around it.
My one complaint is that the setting sun roasted us in the seating area. It would help to have curtains or shades or something.
Noticed that they serve Harney and sons tea! One of my favorite...
Read moreIf you didn't know there was a restaurant tucked behind Sarah's Market - the "and café" - you could easily miss this excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner spot. I worked across the street from Sarah's for years and am a huge fan. It wins its points for food and service - the restaurant décor is not fancy. The food is prepared right in front of you - you order and pick up at the counter - by cooks who are remarkably friendly (having worked at restaurants years ago I know this is exceptional) given how busy they can get.
Some of my favorites include the Chicken Curry (the portion's so large you'll have leftovers for tomorrow's lunch), Chicken Parm, Grilled Salmon (served over salad with a creamy sauce - delicious), the Middle Eastern Veggie Wrap, and the Turkey Burger. Sarah's breakfasts - served all day on the weekends - are superb.
Sarah's Market carries a super assortment of groceries, snacks, beer and wine and even has a small...
