Unfortunately the dishes off the menu took forever…for both meals. This delay is compounded when part of the group gets the buffet. I will say that my daughter and I enjoyed the dinner buffet very much and the rockfish and soup were good but they should be ashamed of charging $48 for two minuscule crab cakes off the menu. After a 45 minute wait, it was insulting. Bottom line on dinner - at $38 the buffet with the seafood, vegetables, and prime rib was the way to go. This earned two stars. Breakfast was a complete disaster. My wife got the buffet and was underwhelmed across the board - for $25. Sad. It was on par with microwaved Hampton Inn food. Part of that was an order of eggs but no direction on how to place or receive the order. After the rest of us placed a simple order from the menu, we sat there for 40 minutes…no water refills, no coffee, no tea…no nothing!! My wife chased down her eggs from the kitchen. At some point, the waiter walks up, puts down the bill and says ‘take your time with this’. WHAT?!? Clearly he was living by those words. I asserted in no uncertain terms that we had not even been served drinks much less our lousy breakfast, hence the LACK OF PLATES!! I told him that he had 5 minutes to make it right. He failed. He blamed it on the kitchen being ‘backed up’. I pointed across the restaurant- it was half full at best. The food came out soon thereafter. It was ok…at best…plain and basic. He never gave me my coffee or filled the waters! Unacceptable. As we were getting up (now late for our appointment), he brings my wife’s eggs over and presents them with an incredulous ‘Here we are!’ as if he was expecting a golf clap from us and cheers from the balcony. You have to be kidding. Unbelievable!! He got no applause. If Hyatt wants to run a 5-star resort, this needs to be significantly improved. I know…Covid. Look, everyone in that restaurant was paying top dollar for shoddy service and a slow lackluster kitchen..we don’t want excuses…match the high prices with commensurate service and food or shut the doors. IF we recommend this resort it will come with a big warning about...
Read moreWe recently dined at Waters Edge Grill, nestled within the Hyatt Regency, and was captivated by the elegant atmosphere and stunning scenery.
The ambiance sets the stage for a sophisticated dining experience, making it an ideal spot for special occasions and lovely pictures.
The presentation of the dishes was nothing short of artistry, each plate crafted with precision. However, I must admit that while the visuals promised a culinary adventure, the taste fell short of expectations, scoring a 3/10 for minimal flavor. It's disappointing when the visual feast doesn't translate into a flavor explosion on the palate.
On a brighter note, the drink selection deserves commendation. The variety of mixed drinks offered is extensive, and the quality of the beverages is consistently high. This certainly adds a delightful touch to the overall dining experience.
The restaurant's location inside the Hyatt Regency was exceptionally convenient, but it's worth noting that the venue is somewhat secluded. If you're seeking a quiet escape to be in nice scenery and have drinks, this could be a plus; however, those looking for a more full dining experience it may not...
Read moreVery disappointed. They claim to have online ordering, but it didn't work for me and at least one other customer that I overheard. Ordered to-go at the separate to-go window. The cashier was polite and helpful. For $68, got a cup of crab soup, mixed green salad with chicken, cheeseburger w/ fries, kids fish and chips, and quesadilla w/ side salad. The cashier forgot to ask what I wanted for salad dressing, and I forgot to ask when picking up. The food was very low quality. The burger was super basic. The quesadilla was also very basic and carelessly thrown into the box. The pico de gallo and guacamole had very little flavor. The fish sticks looked meager, but to be fair, my 5 year old daughter said they were good. I realize take-out it is not as good as eating in, but based on the way this food looked, I would not have wanted to eat it inside the restaurant either. I could understand...
