As I walked in this morning, I was greeted before I walked in with a friendly smile from two of the patrons sitting at the bar. And before my foot crossed the threshold, everyone said, "Good morning!" To quote one of the gentlemen who smiled at me when I came in."It's like cheers here. Everyone says good morning!
The service is the best I've received in the morning when I'm rushing to work. They are always pleasant and promptly grab my super dark roast Loud Thunder coffee. Today, I had a few moments to chat. But most days, I'm just in and out. I use my own hummingbird travel mug, and the man behind the counter has often offered to wash it out before he fills my cup. Which I feel is super nice, but I always come in ready with sugar already in my cup. So I decline. Another wonderful thing is that they don't seem to use straws! They always give me a silverware spoon to stir up my sugar and coffee. There are no straws in sight, just some wood stir sticks. I love this because I think the world needs to get away from using plastic, especially straws! Just my opinion. All in all, this is a great place for a good hot cup of coffee and a welcome smile. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other tasty things I've noticed...
Read moreI've got to take a moment to share my appreciation for Luau Coffee. I've stopped here occasionally and it's always been a pleasant experience. But today, almost two hours before they were set to open, not a time you'd expect a any business to entertain you, I was welcomed in.
Neil, who I assume runs the place, was there. I took a chance, walked in, and I'm so glad I did. He greeted me with a sincere smile and warmth, making it seem like the most natural thing to serve a customer before hours. His kindness didn't just start my day on a high note; it gave me a whole new level of appreciation for Luau Coffee.
The staff here has always been great, and the menu is something I've enjoyed. But this morning’s encounter with Neil was different. It showed me the heart behind this place. It's not just about the coffee or the food; it's about the people who make it special.
I'm grateful to Neil for not just the coffee, but for the genuine hospitality that's hard to come by. It's these small acts of kindness that make a huge difference. I’m looking forward to coming back, not just for the quality they offer, but for the genuine connection that makes a regular coffee shop...
Read moreI would give 10 stars if I could. The food and drinks are fantastic, everything is very fresh and the meals are well balanced in a healthy way. The staff could not be more kind, and the service is consistent. I cast my vote for freedom by supporting places like this who fight for our Liberty as Americans while our Illinois government spends our tax money on useless socialist propaganda about forced masking in America. Our medical system has plenty of resources to take action against the flu in our country and fight to keep America free, instead our heroes are fighting for a socialist ideal. I little research outside of our mainstream media would reveal that when the flu hit our nation in the early 1900’s masks were not helpful in containing it. That is what the media is NOT telling us. Along with many other facts. Why are we following the communist countries instead of finding an American solution? Why is our government and medical system failing us and blaming freedom for the spread of COVID-19?? Thank you, Luau Coffee, for doing the right thing. Our real American forefathers would consider you the real heroes in this assault against...
