If you find yourself in the Campton, NH area, you must visit The Dandelion Eatery, a charming food truck in a beautiful park-like setting. What really makes this spot stand out, aside from the great food, is the unique atmosphere. The park features a fireplace built from a crane excavator – how cool is that? It's such a distinctive and cozy addition to the experience.
The chef, Dan, is an absolute gem. He’s friendly, polite, and genuinely adds to the welcoming vibe of the food truck. You can tell he takes pride in his work, and his passion for cooking truly shines through.
We ordered a few items: the Bahn Mi Pork Sandwich, Pineapple Jalapeno Pork Sandwich, a side of Wicked Gouda Mac n’ Cheese, and the Flourless Chocolate Torte for dessert. Dan makes everything from scratch, except for the bread, which is super impressive, especially considering he’s serving out of a food truck. And the portions? Generous. You definitely get your money's worth here.
Let’s talk about the pork – it’s absolutely melt-in-your-mouth tender. We were so impressed by how flavorful it was, we actually asked Dan if he sold the pork by the pound. We live over an hour away, but we’d absolutely drive up just to get more of that pork to take home. Unfortunately, he didn’t sell it by the pound at the time, but he mentioned that he might offer it in the summer, so fingers crossed!
Now, the sandwiches: My Bahn Mi Pork Sandwich was excellent. The cilantro was fresh, the pickled carrots were perfectly tangy, and the daikon added a nice crunch. The only thing I would have loved to add were some pickled jalapenos, but the spicy mayo gave it a nice kick, so no complaints there.
The Wicked Gouda Mac n’ Cheese? Hands down the best Mac n’ Cheese I’ve ever had. It’s so rich and cheesy, it almost feels like an indulgence in every bite. Definitely a must-try.
And lastly, the Flourless Chocolate Torte. Wow. It’s dense and rich, and the dark chocolate flavor reminded me of Trader Joe’s chocolate truffles but with an even more intense depth. The addition of fresh fruit and whipped cream was a lovely balance, and the orange rind garnish added the perfect touch to cut through the sweetness. But wait – there’s more! The torte also came with homemade nut brittle, which was so good that we asked Dan if he sold it by itself. He absolutely must start selling it – it’s that delicious! It’s crunchy, flavorful, and doesn’t break your teeth, which is a huge win for brittle. I can totally see him making a killing selling it around Christmas time.
One more thing: If you’re someone with a gluten allergy, you’re in luck! Dan has a dedicated, gluten-free section on his menu, and he actually has a dedicated area in his kitchen where everything is prepared gluten-free. So, it’s a great option for those with dietary restrictions.
Overall, The Dandelion Eatery is an absolute gem. Great food, friendly service, and a unique setting....
Read moreI never write reviews, but I am greiving for my past self for not knowing about this place earlier! I truly am beyond thrilled to have new local options that taste this incredible. The area has been needing a food revamp since I moved here ten years ago, and as I ate here on Friday, I sounded like a broken record saying, “oh my god. This chicken is so good.” The chef and owner asked if we had allergies, and VERY fortunately for us, we don’t. He came over and gave us an incredibly generous sample of his signature Gouda Mac and cheese… the sauce is SO good! Our toddler ate it ALL. She too, asked for more chicken when our first portion was done. My husband mixed them together and though that’s not my thing, he said it was ABSOLUTELY his! Lol
We will be back way sooner than I could have ever anticipated for a local truck! This is my new favorite food truck in the area - and as a food truck fan… maybe a top 3 contender for the best I’ve tried… I can not stop thinking about trying the...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If we could give you a million stars, we would. Chef Dan is amazing! He has true talent and joy in crafting the food on the menu, you can taste it right away with the first bite. Fresh and local ingredients are key to their menu at Dandelion Eatery and they shine on the plate. We love their core staple items (like the maple buffalo Zangi fried chicken), but love even more that they have a rotating menu allowing us to try new things. My fiancé is an avid customer and lover of all things Dandelion. So today I tried to surprise him after a long work day. Joke was on me when I got the call saying he saw the receipt come to our email. 🤦🏻♀️😆 Anyway, my surprise was a failure, but our meal was not!! Dan is always making great suggestions and as always, my fiancé tried something new and loved it. Anyone new to the area or just stopping by for a quick visit, this is a must! You will not be...
