Are you freakin kidding me?! This was the cutest coffee shop I’ve ever been to. I am always seeking out local coffee shops wherever I travel but this is hands down my favorite one. We had been staying in Woodstock, and saw this while searching for places to have coffee / breakfast during our stay, but it was just outside of town so we decided just to stop here on our way back south on the way home. I am so glad we made the decision to stop. For a local coffee shop, the prices were excellent! I couldn’t help myself, I ordered 2 drinks because there was a special I wanted to try, and my fiancé ordered one (2 mediums & 1 large) and I also got a molasses cookie. The cookie was amazing. I ate it while waiting for our drinks and totally ordered another one. (10/10 recommend the molasses cookie). For everything we got, the total was only $18. At other coffee shops, you almost pay that for 2 drinks alone. I loved the selection of mugs, stickers, snacks, trinkets, maple syrups, etc. All of the pastries and food looked excellent too. And not to mention the cute leather couches and comfy spaces to sit. Everything was fantastic and we were very impressed. Can’t wait to come back next time we’re...

Awesome service with a real smile, Awesome coffee, Yummy egg sandwiches fast. Gotta love the deviled eggs. I must also disagree with another review stating the coffee was overoasted. I did not buy bag so I did not try their light roasts but i did get a latte and it was perfect, top notch flavor with notes of butterscotch.

Spoiled urbanites need to remember context and perspective . This place is a gem it is a real cafe experience, that you can not get from some mediocre coffee shop chain. That overroasts all there cofee including their esspesso.....or a chain that sells you cheap robusta beans and syrups to cover it up..... P.s. we roast our own coffee at home but I feel that it is not fair to bring that information into a cafe review. Its like comparing your favorite home cooked meal to a restaurants food....or the price of home purchased wine against a bars. These places do what you don't want to do at the time...

Best coffee shop within 20 miles north or south! Great quality and excellent ingredients with all of their products. Open everyday of the week for breakfast and lunch. Freshly ground and brewed coffee everyday! These guys produce their own coffee and it's all they sell but don't worry there is plenty of variety from cold brew to 10 different hot varieties. They serve thier cold brew with ice cubes made from coffee, so it slowly refills its self and tastes amazing! I often plan to have meetings at Mad River so I can enjoy everything they have to offer. This is a great spot for take out or to spent hours at on a rainy day! There are so many different options to get at breakfast that going there everyday throughout the week for a month you won't repeat meals! I highly recommend Mad River Coffee House to both locals and tourists to create a great start to your day or even a pick me up...

Everything was pretty good for the most part. A group of about 12 of us gathered here for breakfast before our annual foliage trip. There's outdoor seating, which would've been nice to be seated at if it wasn't so chilly out. The service was prompt, however, a point a was taken off (for food also) because I asked for a raspberry iced tea but when I got it, it was "sweet tea" (unsweetened). I went back to the counter to mention this because it wasn't stated anywhere on the menu that it was unsweetened but I was charged for another drink. Restaurants truly need to be more transparent with things like this, especially when iced tea can come sweetened, like Brisk iced tea, or unsweetened like hot tea -but cold. Sooo that was unpleasant, seeing that I only took a sip but had to pay for something else. I ordered an egg sandwich on wheat and my husband ordered a ham wrap.

Mad River is a New England farmland vibe. The coffee is what you would expect: over-roasted beans (even their med-light roast was past second crack!) that have the stench of char on them. Production issues too: non-uniform roast yields beans of different colors, so either roaster needs repair or process needs adjustment. Despite all this, they have roast dates on the bag. Far from specialty coffee, but a step up from Dunkin’. Why 4 stars? The spot is fun, board games and books everywhere. We were going camping so my partner and I went there to do work on a Friday on the way up. WiFi sucked but I won’t hold it against them. Peeps were friendly enough and food was decent.
