I went back and forth on if I even wanted to leave a review, but I have to.
My daughter and I visited this Leo's Coney Island on 7/14/24. Our server was Brenda. It was around 12pm. The restaurant was busy.
Brenda (our server) was a bit out of sorts from the beginning. We had a simple order - 1 cup of lemon rice soup and a coney dog, 1 9 pc. nugget with onion rings, 2 cherry cokes.
Brenda came walking down the aisle with my soup and stopped at 3 other tables asking if it was their soup before finally brining it to our table. Once she delivered it, another table was being sat for her and she told the server that was leading them to the table that she was "going out of her mind" because she was so busy. The rest of our food got delivered about 15 minutes later. We ate and then did not see Brenda again.
We had been sitting there, finished with our food, and waiting for the bill for 20 minutes. This older woman was walking around checking on Brenda's tables but never stopped at ours. I kindly approached her and asked for a box and our bill and did state that we'd been waiting 20 minutes.
Brenda came back about 5 minutes later with a terrible attitude and slammed the bill on the table saying "I'm sorry you had to wait 20 minutes I'm very busy". I chose not to say anything (in order NOT to be rude, because she approached with a snotty attitude) and took my daughter up to the front to pay. I kid you not, Brenda followed me up to the register and started screaming at me "you don't have to be mean, I am very busy and I'm sorry you had to wait". In a calm manner I told her "I wasn't mean at all, I chose not to say anything IN ORDER NOT to be mean". She just kept screaming and I looked at the cashier and stated (again, calmly) that "you guys need to get her some help". Meaning they needed to stop giving her so many tables because she obviously cannot manage it. Brenda took it as I mean "help" in the negative sense and then started screaming that I needed help...
Mind you, the cashier AND the manager on staff just sat behind the counter and watched - said NOTHING to Brenda who is yelling at a paying customer. The manager (Tara) whispered to the cashier "what just happened?". Instead of asking me, the customer, who just got yelled at by her employee. I explained to her (calmly) what happened and then asked to speak with a manager. Tara stated "I'm the manager". I told her that is no way for a server to speak to a paying customer and that she should have interjected (as a manager) and calmed her employee down. Paid my bill and left.
I have NEVER left a restaurant without tipping, even if my food was bad, etc. And prior to Brenda coming up and yelling at me like I was her child, I planned on leaving her 20% for her troubles. But umm, no, no tip this time. Nor will we return.
All around bad management - what kind of manager sits there and watches a server scream...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSince when I called last Tuesday and was told I couldn't speak to any manager because there wasn't one there and there wouldn't be one for the remainder of the day, I'll leave my experience here for the manager to hopefully see
I have been ordering carry out from this place every Tuesday for 4 years and spent thousands of dollars here. When the food is made right and we actually get all of our order/the right order, it's great. But that's not happening and has only gotten worse this past year.
I am always very clear on my order when I call it in. Every single time I order they screw something up, they either forget to give us something, or mess up the order entirely. We've had both of our toast missing, dressings missing, no crackers for soup, given the wrong kind of soup completely more than once, given burnt dried out inedible hash browns on top many occasions to count, given the completely wrong order all together, wrong style eggs, burnt food, the list goes on.
Last Tuesday my daughter was sick and the only thing she could eat was potato soup. I ordered a bowl of that with oyster crackers, an order of onion rings, 2 patty melts. When I got to the car I checked and they didn't give us any crackers for the soup. When I got home they gave us lemon rice soup instead of potato. When I called to let them know they said they ran out of potato soup so they just gave me lemon rice instead. Umm, what? Why wouldn't you ask me first if it's ok to substitute a whole item? I would have said no. They had no solution for me, didn't offer to make it right and wouldn't let me speak to a manager. On top of that the party melts were awful and very dried out. I tried to eat the lemon rice soup (something I like) and it was so disgusting I through it out.
You can't charge people for something then give them something completely different without asking first. Then refusing any type of solution. Literally every week there is a problem. I keep going back thinking I'll give them another chance, they are close to my house and every week there's issues. Unfortunately I won't be back. You need to get this figured out, why peoples orders are constantly messed up and missing items. I was provided zero customer service. I was a long time loyal customer, the type that are hard to find and a real...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me start off by letting everyone know the parking lot is tight. If you drive a larger vehicle say a truck or bigger SUV, and there busy is going to take some maneuvering. Restaurant is clean and inviting. We were heated immediately as we walked through the doors and given our seats. This is when the visit gets the okay 3 star rating though. Our waitress greeted us, gave us our menu asked what we wanted to drink. We ordered coffee... coffee was brought to us and our waitress was off to her other tables. The next 10 minutes she said to us 3 times as she walked by, I'll be with you in a few. My wife and I both ordered a omelette with spinach and american cheese, this is important because the have a spinach omelette on the menu that comes with tomatoes and onions. When our omelets came out you can see from the photo it had tomatoes and onions. My wife didn't mind, but for me I'm not a fan of cooked tomatoes or cooked onions. I food was brought to us by a hostess. When our waitress was available again walking by, I stopped her to ask why the omelet had tomatoes and onions. She said let me grab a menu. She showed me where the spinach omelette has onions and tomatoes. I try not to be petty, but reminded her we ordered a omelette with spinach and american cheese. I not writing this review to bash anyone, but attention to detail and or confirmation of the order, even saying you don't want items or the item comes with, etc. I had mine remade, my wife did not. The food was okay, and the prices are inline as well. It will probably take me some time before I'll try this location again. Most likely will go to the one...
