I *really* enjoyed everything I had there. I was NOT prepared for the inside, but it was cute! Eclectic & fun! …but not “the finer side of Italian dining” decor, per se? But, that’s ok! Better to be fun than stuffy. The chairs were uncomfy for my partner, unfortunately (back problems). We ordered a ravioli dish (an entree, on the menu) to split. They had a dish of the day: a spin on a caprese salad that had pasta & burrata. I *LOVED* it. Much to my partner’s dismay, there was no simple “spaghetti & meatball” entree, & lasagna is only served on Thursdays (I think? Just one day of the week). They do have meatballs! But we were told the only way to make a “spaghetti & meatball” happen would be to sub a lot on the dish of the day, which had fusilli pasta (I think?). So not truly worth it! They got the steak instead. Unfortunately, it was ordered medium rare & it came out well. But! The waitress specifically asked how everything was & after my partner mentioned it, the waitress immediately acted caring & wanted to replace it & told us she’d even tell the chef. The next time it came out, it was perfectly cooked. The wine selection was a little lacking… & it’s hard to pay something like $25 on a bottle of wine you know is probably on sale at Walmart for $8.99 😅 But I suppose I’m just the kinda customer who would do such a thing. lol. The staff was all so friendly & sweet. It was a quiet, intimate atmosphere. You can’t be more than 3 feet from the table next to you, but there was a calm vibe & it wasn’t loud or crazy. I think there must be maybe 12-16 tables there? (Maybe… to the owners: so sorry if I’m way off lol) but we like visiting smaller places like this! All in all: I want to go again! To be fair, my partner doesn’t lol. But this would be the PERFECT place if you & your bestie wants to have a wine & pasta night, or if you wanna take your mom out for her birthday. Definitely recommend trying! I will be back :)

If you haven’t had the opportunity to experience Terra Sana Farm + Kitchen in Ben Wheeler, then I promise you’re definitely missing out. I had the pleasure of having dinner with some great people (fellow foodies) last night. Although it was a short 30 minute drive, It was so worth it. I would describe Terra Sana Farm + Kitchen as a restaurant where Italian comfort food meets fresh local ingredients. Every dish felt thoughtful and full of flavor. We started with the Burrata Salad. It had a rather large piece of creamy burrata cheese, peppery micro greens and arugula, sweet tomatoes, and crispy prosciutto. Everything was drizzled with a balsamic reduction. It was the perfect starter salad. The Salmon Lemone and Chicken Lemone were both super tender and drenched in a bright lemon butter caper sauce. Paired with creamy mashed potatoes and veggies from the farm. So good!!! Not a single crumb was left behind. The Farfalle Primavera was another standout dish. Perfectly cooked bow tie pasta, covered in a pesto cream sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, and pine nuts for that perfect savory bite. It was truly delicious. Desserts were next level. The Pistachio Ricotta Mousse Cake was light and smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. The Bananas Foster Cheesecake was rich and borderline over the top in the best way possible and the Chocolate Temptation (think Ferrero Rocher vibes) was pure indulgence. If you’re into fresh ingredients, great Italian, and a cozy, elevated vibe, Terra Sana is an absolute must. I’m already thinking about my next visit. The service was fantastic by the way. Cami and Kaylynn (probably misspelled) did a phenomenal job!!!

I booked my in laws a birthday dinner here they were happy to drive over an hour to get there given the talk of the great reviews. They went on a Thursday which is lasagna night. They had the focaccia bread to start and cannolis to finish. They live in California where wineries are abundant and they thoroughly enjoyed the knowledge and offerings of wine available. I was very lucky they saved two bites of lasagna I was able to enjoy the next day, I only wish they brought more! They loved the personalized table card which made the evening that much more special, so much so they traveled back with it and had a (not as fancy and good as Terra Sana) hotel dinner with their personalized name card! They will definitely be back on their next visit and can't wait to try the other menu offerings. Definitely recommend for incredibly fresh food, home cooked/made with love and served with kindness.

Revised Review: After the owner's response, I just have to say "shame on you." If a new customer comes in and tries to order multiple things on the menu, the "chef" should come out and apologize and offer a tasty alternative. Just saying

I was so excited to hear about the new Italian, reservation only, dining opportunity in a neighborhood where I am a property owner and one that I visit many times a year. As a parting treat before I left to go home to another time zone, I went on a Saturday at 7:30 with my favorite five other people on the planet. Three of them I have travelled with in Italy and shared hundreds of meals with over the last decades. The place is cozy and cute and has interesting visual features and some interesting art. The community is known for art, so that is not surprising.

I was told when we came in that it would not be a fast and out the door dining experience. That is very typical of authentic Italian so I was not unhappy about that.

Our server, Jenna was very sweet and attentive. She got us taken care of in a timely manner with water all around. I had made a personal choice to have something other than wine. I'm in Texas, I figure I'd like to try one of the Margaritas.

Jenna says they were out of Margaritas.

Of a long list of ciders, except that there were only two. So I had something called Crackberry Cider which was better after the second one.,

Oh the food. Well, I was very excited about trying the Ravioli alla Vodka.

Jenna says they are out of ravioli.

I am not a bit fan of seafood. I ordered a meatballs appetizer. I did ask for a side of mashed potatoes and

Jenna came back to tell me that there was only enough mashed potatoes for all of the entrees that were served and not enough for a side. I was fortunate that one of my friends allowed me to taste the mashed potatoes because the were the best of what I had.

My friends were served lovely plates. The looked artfully arranged and my friends tucked into their shrimp and salmon.

The meatballs were normal meatballs. They weren't terrible but they weren't great.

I felt kind of bad, I think my friends had some good food. It was so hard for me to tell since I had more limited choices.

This was particularly harsh as folks we had lead us there were so excited to share how good it was and they were all with us and saw that it was not so good.

I think there is a better way to say what they are serving rather than telling patrons what they don't have or are out of something. If I had known that I needed to order what I wanted a day in advance, it would have been helpful. That's pretty pretentious for a restaurant located in Ben Wheeler, Texas. To tell a diner that is frustrated with all choices being gone that they can't even get mashed potatoes is harsh.

I would like to go again, perhaps earlier...

I want to start off by saying that our server was friendly and that I enjoyed the meal that I ordered (the Chilean sea bass). If my experience would have ended at that, I most likely would have returned and given the restaurant a better review. However, two of the people in our party (party of four) were displeased with their meals and made the server aware. My main issue is how the chef and/or management (I’m not completely sure of his title) reacted to my friend's complaint that her filet mignon was overcooked and that her mashed potatoes were cold. The four of us inspected her $50 steak, and a couple of us tried it; we all agreed that the steak was overcooked. My husband also ordered a medium-rare $50 filet that came out warm, barely pink, and dry in the middle; he chose not to send his back, but they overcooked both of the steaks that were ordered. When the chef/manager came to the table, he took a few minutes to explain to us that we were wrong about our “perfectly" prepared steaks. It was only after we pressed the issue that he offered to prepare the dishes as we’d ordered them. My friend’s second steak was perfect and her mashed potatoes warm, but it would have been nice to have skipped the lecture from the defensive chef/manager. The interaction with the chef is what will keep me from ever going back to this restaurant. As someone who works in the service industry, that is not the way to try and remedy a situation with an unhappy customer, especially ones who are paying so much for their meals. I also want to mention that I have seen how this business responds to critism in other reviews and the definsive manner in which they spoke to us translates over in their comments online. I think this is a good indicator for businesses from which to steer clear. If you took the time to read this lengthy review, I appreciate it; I hope you have a better experience...
