The Forge — Restaurant in Canton

We have been coming to The Forge for 4+ yrs. Our last 2 visits I must say have made me decide it will b awhile before we return. Over the last months service has declined to where it is so frustrating. I dont blame the lack of waitress experience on the waitresses themselves. I blame it on management. You know, the little guy with the gray hair who just ambles around and somehow doesnt notice his waitstaff may need training and or improvement in their skills, or empty glasses on his customers tables, or hey, he could even hand us a menu and let us know our waitress MAY or MAY NOT be with us shortly. He is a very non working manager. Its been the same our last 2 times to dine at The Forge. Seating ourselves and then having to wait an unreasonable amount of time for a server to even acknowledge our presence. Finally after exactly 4 min (I timed her because of our last experience) a waitress came to our table, took our drink order and returned in an untimely manner with our drinks. Never once during the meal did she return to see if we needed a refill on our drinks. She only noticed the empty glasses when she served our meal. This is not cool. I have never not wanted to dine at The Forge until NOW. Perhaps some training for the waitresses and a Manager who is interested in seeing The Forge flourish, and not go down because of poor service and...

I’ve given this place several chances because we don’t have any options in Ben Wheeler… I’ve had great food and I’ve had terrible food. My last trip is what really did me in. Took my kids here for brunch. Arrived at 11:20am. Ordered drink and an app about 15 minutes later. Because that’s how long it took to get someone over there. That came out quicktook the waitress over 20 minutes to come back and take our order. My kids ordered pancakes, the kid’s breakfast (mini pancakes, egg and fruit), and I ordered a omelette. I’ve worked in the service industry a long time so I understand when it gets busy, things get crazy. People who had arrived after I ordered were getting their food. My kids were antsy and hungry. We were all getting very frustrated. Food finally comes out after idk how long of waiting and everything was COLD, my omelettes cheese wasn’t even melted, potatoes were hard and cold. Daughters kids breakfast wasn’t even how I ordered the eggs, all of hers was cold. I was so aggravated at that point when I finally found the waitress I asked for it all to be taken off and for the check. I hate that for Ben Wheeler this is all we have. Los Pinos is very good but I get tired of Mexican and want something different. The Forge is very over priced and never consistent on...

We went to The Forge after a considerable debate and found the restaurant with excellent food and fantastic service. Everything is low-low key but don't let that fool you for taste and efficiency. Food came quickly and it was really good. I ordered a guacamole habenerro burger and it was fantastic. We also ordered the Greek salad which was really good too. Hand cut fries were much better than expected. The best part.... charro beans... this side was really the best charro beans out there and for a side item... I was ready to ask for seconds. Just really really good and tasty charro beans. Nothing in it was frivolous and everything in it was what was needed. Our server... Ms. S was efficient and delivered everything we asked for perfectly on time and answered all the questions . Thank you. They also have a large selection of Pizza topping and by the number of people ordering pizza I figure it was good stuff. Live music needed a lot of additional practice but at least the sound system was good. This restaurant has lot to explore but we went on a wet and rainy night so will have to return for additional tastings and exploration. Hands down... the food we ate...
