In one word The Bistro was phenomenal! The restaurant has a calming ambiance that is beautifully decorated in what I would describe as a modern rustic environment. Our server, Dan, was awesome. He had insightful and honest recommendations regarding the menu items. We were able to talk to him for a few minutes and never felt rushed even though we were likely one of the last reservations of the night. The Artisan Piatti platter was fantastic and of course I had to add the prosciutto! With 4 meats and 3 cheeses, along with other toppings, there are numerous pairing options. My wife even discovered that she liked goat cheese! The million dollar deviled eggs were fantastic as well. As a self-proclaimed deviled egg connoisseur (yes I like them that much), I would definitely order these again. The highlight was the strip of thick cut bacon with a wonderful smokey flavor and subtle hint of sweetness that you are able to cut up and enjoy on top of the eggs! I ordered the strip steak (it paired well with the Gervasi rum barrel bourbon). It was a fantastic cut of beef that was precisely cooked to medium-rare. The only thing that would've made it better would be a sprinkle of course ground sea salt on top. I ultimately decided to order the strip steak because I had to try the potatoes that come with it. They were so good I wanted more! Large pieces of bacon and ham mixed with the potatoes (and peppers if I can remember correctly) complimented the steak through every bite. My wife ordered the halibut. It was a thick cut piece that flaked perfectly and the lobster bisque risotto combination was fantastic. I almost asked her if she wanted to trade! Side note: Even though I didn't taste it, the table next to us ordered something coated in red sauce, and let me tell you, that sauce smelled absolutely amazing! It smelled like I walked back into time and was sitting in my grandmother's kitchen as she was making sauce. Dan said it was probably the peppers or the meatballs and I almost ordered some to go but I was too full! The only downside was the addition of a 2.5% fee for credit card purchases. Now it isn't the end of the world, but it seems like a business of this size where would be able to avoid these processing fees. The fees are in no way a surprise and I appreciate the transparency but it seems to be consistent throughout the property so if you come here make sure you pay with debit or cash to avoid these fees.

From the moment you sight the campus, until the weekend is over, you are not going to be able to get enough of this place! We made reservations, but showed up a little late. They still sat us at a nice table overlooking the lake. From the front of the house to the servers, everybody was so nice! We had the meat and cheese plate as an app - delicious! We couldn't get enough of it! For the main course, I ordered the short ribs (fall off the bone, adequately sauced) with mashed potatoes (melts on your tongue, ok) and gnocchi (had a slight crunch! How did they know to do this?!πππ) - I think I will remember this meal for 10yrs to come! My sis got the scallops (perfectly cooked) with asparagus and risotto (so creamy)! Of course, we're bagging half of this because we wanted to save room for dessert! We had the strawberry cheesecake (seasonal) and the caramel brownie with Gelato! By this point, I'm hating Gervasi!!! How could one restaurant be so perfect?! Anyway, we walked off some of those calories at the marketplace πππ I had hoped to buy some of their cheeses (coz that ricotta would've served my lasagna well), preserves and bread. We didn't get these, but they had a whole lot of other goodies (on the high-end side, so come prepared) that are gorgeous. All in all, check them out! Lol Update! Went to the piazza, and it was great! The view was gorgeous, and the food was good. Remember that each section has a different menu. Then we went into the bistro. Whew! So different from the first time! I ended up having to walk away, but the food wasn't as good as before, and the presentation wasn't the same (got the same thingπ). Definitely disappointed. Might stick to the piazza going forward.

I was so excited to try this place given the great reviews. Upon entering, the hostesses seemed disorganized and overwhelmed, and we were the only people there. The setting of the restaurant was so beautiful with natural wood and a stunning staircase. While decorated for chrisrmas, everything was glowing and so gorgeous. The beauty was the best part of dining here. Our server was friendly while at the table, but did not go above and beyond. The food was very mid (as the kids would) for the price range. We had the perogies and they were undersalted but had good flavor other wise. Our entrees were decent but not outstanding. I had the chicken Napoleon and it was the better of the two entrees. My spouse had the short rib gnocchi and was happy with it, just felt it was under seasoned. For desert, the peanut butter trifle was too sweet for my taste, like peanut butter fudge, when I expected more of a lighter mousse. The wine was really the standout here. The wine flight was a great way to try a few different ones. I liked that some options were grown on their property. All wines were flavorful and complimented the meal well. The gift shop is gorgeous and has all the wines and spirits for sale. Service in the gift shop was excellent, I wish the bistro would have followed suit. Overall, very nice ambiance and a decent meal with good wine but I'll probably look for a different option next time. It depends on your priorities. If you're a wine person, you will probably love it. If you're a foodie, it's going to be very mid.

Overall a great experience as usual. Knocked off a star only due to food being a slight miss in some areas. The ambiance and service were top notch and I will always highly recommend this restaurant for that alone, especially in winter it's very cozy and romantic in winter. For food, we tried the octopus appetizer and it was tender and cooked properly on its own but the dish overall lacked flavor. Paired with some tomatoes and olives and that's really it. No sauce or additional toppings to really bring the dish together. Could have done with some layers of flavor there... Although if showcasing octopus on its own I suppose it may work. The beef short rib dinner was also slightly missing flavors. The depth of flavors was just not as you would expect from short rib. It seemed it could have been cooked in some red wine and have that depth shine through a bit more. It just tasted a bit like a slow cooker meal at home. My chicken piccata also was not prepared in a classic Italian method as I was asked grilled or fried on the chicken. Went grilled and just plain grilled chicken on top of lemon cream sauce pasta. Not complaining much here as it was delicious!!! Overall for the cost, i expected a bit more. But still a SOLID restaurant for ambiance, service, knowledge from wait staff etc....

July 2022 - Another visit and again we had a great time. The food is excellent and the service is top notch. Some dishes remained on the menu from our previous visits and those that we tried again were just as good as we remembered, and some new ones were wonderful as well. Pictures attached. 2021. A followup visit and the level of service, cuisine, and overall excellence has not decreased. This is still one of our places and highly recommended. 2019. We came here as part of a stay at their hotel and the package included a reservation. Since this was a special occasion for us, we did not mind. The restaurant itself is gorgeously decorated in dark woods with the staff in the black Gervassi uniforms with red emblems. Seating is spacious and we did not feel crowded. The nenu has lots of options for every taste and there are at least rwo specials offered nightly. You can make modifications freely as our waiter explained. The waiter was very nice, asked about dietary restrictions and preferences, offered wine pairings, and checked back regularly. When a small issue arose, he handled it correctly and well. The dishes were well prepared and very tasty. The suggested wine pairings worked very well. Prices were definitely not exorbitant for the quality of the food and experience.

(Prefacing this with the info that one of my children is a chef here) My SO and I had dinner here on 5/6/23 to celebrate our anniversary. We knew the food would be phenomenal, but were pleasantly surprised by how warm and welcoming the staff was. Kylin, our server, made an excellent wine recommendation for my very picky wine pallette. Was very attentive throughout the evening and even helped us choose an excellent dessert (to take home cause we were very full from dinner). She then surprised us with the gelato seen in the picture and took some great pictures of us for our own memories! We also asked for, and received, a table visit from my favorite chef (yes, my child, Frank) who later told me they made sure to mention a food allergy to the kitchen (cause i forgot to do that) and ensured everything was perfect for us. Kudos to Jade, Kylie and all the wonderful chefs for some excellently prepared food! We then wandered outside to sit in the comfy Adirondack chairs and just enjoy the vibe of the evening. All in all, an excellent way to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you to the whole staff for a wonderful evening!
