I was so excited for my mom slc her friends to experience the Wine Tasting Event for her 70th birthday. Many of my friends have visited and loved it, so I thought I'd give it a try.
Unfortunately our party was not able to enjoy the Tasting Experience. The group was traveling through the snowstorm from Cleveland and admittingly were late. We acknowledge that. However, the person told us that perhaps we could use the tickets tomorrow(we appreciated his offer, but we have things already scheduled so we won't be able to go.
I called this morning to inquire about additional days/times when our group might be able to return to use the tickets since it was a purchase of $250. Perhaps a credit or a gift card. Essentially this is what he offered last night.
However, the young lady who answered the phone today simply read me their no-return policy. Of course, I read that policy when I purchased the tickets and understood it perfectly. However, due to the weather and a group of eight 70 year old women trying to get from Cleveland to Canton to celebrate, I would have thought the establishment would have been more customer friendly and at least provided a reasonable solution. They left Cleveland at 3:30 pm for a 6:30 pm reservation and were still late. That speaks to the weather and traffic.
Since Gervasi/Cave it prides itself on its customer service, I expected more from them. I was not asking for a refund at all, just a way to use the month that I have already paid to this winery.
The group did fine at the Crush House which was fine, however, due to the poor customer service and lack of compassion, I do not recommend. When I grew up in NE Ohio, every establishment always understood that horrible weather and went out of their way to try to accommodate people delayed because of it. I will be posting this review on all...
Read moreWe had a great time at The Cave for my moms birthday. We set up a 3pm reservation on OpenTable and had 12 people in our group. The table was all set when we arrived and Darlene greeted us. The tasting included four wines and a large charcuterie board with meat, cheese, pickles, olives and crackers. Darlene took us through all the wines and gave us pairing selections. She was very knowledgeable and went through everything at our pace. The table was in a semi-private area so it was perfect for a birthday party. There were a few beer drinkers and non-wine drinkers in our group, but everyone had a good time. If anyone wanted to try more wines or purchase bottles, they were able to add on right at the table.
After the tasting we were able to get a table at The Piazza for a casual outside dinner. The food and service were great. Huge portions and they offer a wide selection of beverages, not just wine.
The only thing they could do better is offer a package with The Cave and a dinner reservation together. We got lucky and were able to get a table right away, but there could’ve been a long wait if we came a little later. There was a wedding and the Bistro was fully booked, so I highly recommend planning in advance. Hoping to return to stay in a villa and...
Read moreWent to The Cave for the wine tasting and tour experience with my parents for a Christmas gift. Overwhelmingly impressed with the experience. Wine is always good at Gervasi but was particularly impressed with the staff that led the experience. Shoutout to Jim and Lisa! Absolutely would encourage wine drinkers to go experience this as a date or even as a group event. Stayed after the tour and tasting for another glass of wine and we left with a case. 10/10 would recommend. Bravo to Gervasi for adding another great experience for people in...
