I came in for a beer and I'd like to say not very impressed. To start, as I walked in there were 3 female hostesses at the counter. Recieved no greetings and maybe a 2 second lookover. I then asked which way to the bar and dismissively one pointed down the hall. Next, I sat at the inside bar and that's all I did was sit. There 3-4 staff behind the bar but they were too involved with laughing it up with eachother. Two of them even glansed at me but immediately looked away. After a long and reasonable wait I moved to the outside bar. Oscar, the male bar tender out back, greeted me immediately and didn't show any type of dismissive attitude like the others and was happy to hold a conversation. He was the only one i saw with "customer service" skills and why i at least gave a second star. Now I can only think of four possible reasons for my neglected treatment today. 01, poor management resulting in poor employee performance. 02, Anti-military, since I was wearing a veteran hat, small towns do tend to have discriminating people. 03, very judgmental based on my tattoos. Small religious towns always judge me as a sinner. 04, racial, I can't help but think this since I was the only non-white customer I saw today. Finally, on my way out I walked behind a group. I witnessed the girls working up front saying bye and thank you as the group departed. As soon as they saw me, again with the silence. Sorry but will definitely not be back, and as my veteran owned and operated company serves our contract in the area, I will advise all of my staff about about thus locations...
Read moreFull disclaimer: we came for a late lunch on Father’s Day. I would be a fool to expect a top tier experience on such a busy restaurant day.
That being said, I liked this place. The food was great, even with us coming on the tail end of Sunday lunch rush. Our hostess was young and had an attitude problem. Undoubtedly because of the Fathers Day crowd, but it was enough to make me do a double take. She handed us our menus and waved us in the direction of the patio. My 3 year old was with us, so it would have been nice to have the kids menu and crayons, too...our waitress brought those once I asked about them.
Our waitress was great! I wish I had caught her name, but it looked like she was juggling that entire patio by herself without breaking a sweat. I liked the set up of the patio, but WHY are there not more patio covers?! I couldn’t imagine being out there and comfortable on a sunny summer day for lunch.
However, I do recommend this place. I’m giving it another shot next time I’m in Canyon. This seems like a really nice place to meet up with friends. They have two bar areas and it’s a much larger restaurant than I expected it to be. The menu looked great! I have zero doubts that the experience will be much...
Read moreGot your fish tacos... Y'all must throw those frozen sectioned filets straight into the fryer and they aren't even seasoned. The Zucchini half moons and the little bit of onion and pepper, which is kind of just weird to put on the plate even though I ordered a fish dish, was not seasoned at all as well. I didn't even taste salt. The rice wasn't even great either. Mango salsa and chipotle ranch were alright, but they shouldn't be the seasoning for your food and more just an additive if you want.
Your Queso Blanco was pretty good. I appreciate a lot of cheese and It was thick. Your chips held up well, didn't break, and the salsa was alright.
I'm not hard to please, but unfortunately we have a ton of great restaurants in the area. Going to a Joe Taco for the first time after being told that they're usually great and receiving this meal was kind of laughable. Maybe I shouldn't have ordered fish tacos, but they're on the menu and I did. The Dos rita wasn't good either.
Service was impeccable and didn't hinder my experience at all. Very attentive. Y'all's food just really didn't hold up. Sorry to be the bearer...
