Rude management that unfairly applies subjective rules, body shaming men and women that don’t fit his opinions if normal.
The pool is nice but the staff manager is rude and rules are applied in a random subjective manner. I was wearing a Euro still trunk and was asked to wear my shorts over them, when asked I for an explanation I was told no speedos. These a clearly Trunks and much larger than a speed. They by far cover more than all of the bottom; women wear similar sized shorts in and out of the pool. At no point was I told what was an acceptable length of trunk but he decided my trucks were too small.
At the same time, he had 2 female staff members tell my wife that her bottoms were also unacceptable and too revealing. My wife’s swim bottoms were a traditional tie side bikini. There were at least 10-15 women wearing similar bottoms. When she asked for specific they said it was a sting bikini and they where not allowed. When questioned further for a clarification they said they where just too revealing and that she had to put on short. She came in with denim shorts, now my wife and I both had to get out of the pool to change.
At this point it was more important for 4 life guards to question swimwear than to watch for pool safety. So now my boys who love the water but are not good swimmers have no one to swim with them. So we where forced to leave, both my boys (6 and 7) left in tears not understanding why the life guards are telling them they can’t get in the pool.
The manager refused to talk to my wife and only had staff talk to her once he pulled me a side. At this point we both felt very attached. My attire met the rule yet the current manger, Andrew, did not like or know how to define them and did not meet his definition of normal so he decided it single me out then my wife as well to be cruel. So men can’t wear tunks that do meet his arbitrary and subjective definition. At no point could he define acceptable for me or her and when or how the rules would applied.
We both felt that we where being attacked and body shamed. Miserable experience, a public pool funded by the city should not...
Read moreThis was our first time attending with our whole family by recommendation. The girl at the gate named Jenna was very rude. Her energy & vibes made us feel unwelcomed. I had 1 bottle of water for my baby and she made me throw it away and said sippy cups were allowed and I’m like that doesn’t make sense. The girl who checked out tickets in was very sweet and helpful. My husband and I decided to go try the slides out and they made me take my necklace off and when I asked his reply was “ so it doesn’t scratch the slides” I was like this is insane. What about the people with long nails with jewelry on them and long toenails…. And the last thing that happened was my daughter went down the little yellow slide with her 1 year old sister and they told her she couldn’t do that… Do y’all want my 1 year old to have an accident or drown. So I was watching from a distance and saw another 2 children do the same thing and she said nothing. Concession stand was great though, I will have to say. They do not treat everyone equal. We probably will...
Read moreThe park was clean with lots of areas for toddlers & the food was good but overpriced. Only giving 2 stars because they wouldn’t let parents go down any of the slides with their kids. My 3 year old was scared to go down any alone & I was told 2x that I couldn’t go down the slides with my kid.. after I did it twice anyways then my kid was comfortable enough to go alone. I guess I’d understand this rule if I was overweight for the slides but I’m only 145 lol so idk why it was such an issue. They kept calling my son a she/her even though he only had swim trunks on. Also they’ve got way too much of the main pool blocked off for the lifegaurds, only left about a quarter of the whole pool to the public. All the spots with shade are “booked for parties” but only one of them actually had a party going on. Also watched them throw away many kids water guns or pool toys because they “aren’t allowed.” They will make you pay twice if you leave & come back...
