I love this restaurant. I come here several times a week (2-3), spending an average of $25 each visit. Do the math. I love supporting black owned businesses.I have had completely positive experiences here until the young lady who I believe is the daughter/ relative of the male owner started running things. She is always on iphone headphones while interacting with customers. Yesterday, I placed an online order for cassava leaf stew. First, the order wasnāt ready when I arrived. Not a big deal. Second, when I opened the container to eat my meal, there was noticeably less sauce and the top piece of chicken was without sauce entirely. Still not so big of a deal. Since I love this place so much I decided to return for my usual - cassava leaf stew and fufu. Because of the prior days experience with the sauce, I decided to ask for the sauce on the side. The young lady first became frustrated and said she had to void the order because I asked for sauce on the side after she ran the transaction. Then she said that the sauce and chicken were cooked together, so I couldnāt have sauce on the side. Completely false. Then she said it was 50 cents extra for sauce on the side. After she opened the chicken pan and it became visible that the chicken was indeed not cooked in sauce she then asked me if I wanted sauce on the side. I had already told her no because her circle talk was confusing me. The whole time she gave inappropriate body language and facial expression because she wasnāt communicated properly. She then followed up with the comment, ā Iām trying to explain it you but you just wonāt accept it.ā Before giving me my order she told me, āevery time you come in here you have negative energy and I just donāt want it to happen the next time you come hereā. Unbelievable. Taste Budds will never have to worry about my energy again. Sometimes family and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy staff and I have order from Taste Budds frequently. today was the absolute worst experience. We all ordered our usually meals. Not sure why several things were prepared differently. We called back and explained there was meat in the ordered that we ordered without meat. You informed us if we did not the meat to take it out. i called back and asked for the manager she said she was the manager. I then asked about the older lady and gentleman that are usually there she informed me they were her parents and she has already spoke to them and they told her she was correct. i informed her it also had greens when red beans and rice were ordered. I explained to her we order the same meals every time and have never had this issue before. THAT WAS THE LAST TIME. THE FOOD IS GOOD BUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH EXTRA ATTITUDE IS...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my first time trying out this spot and while the price of the oxtail is fair, it is definitely not worth it.
There were only 3 customers in the restaurant when I arrived it took a while to get my food. There were two women in the back that fixed the sides and the lady in the front served the meat. It took forever for the side to actually be placed in my container, and I waited a long time after the sides were ready because the lady who dealt with the meat walked off. And she was nice, but knowing that I plate is being made why walk off?
The rice and peas was very wet and mushy and not very flavorful. The oxtail was full of fat and also lacking flavor. I paid for a lemonade and never received it but I guess thats partially my fault for not double checking. Long story short, I will...
