China Buffet — Restaurant in Carol Stream

Great atmosphere and excellent service but very small verity of food choice and very little placed in the trays.

This place has lots of tables but only 1 heated food booth. I’d say it has about 8 dish verities give or take. No fish or fresh vegetables or fruit. Not even sushi. The only vegetables available were cooked with meat or 2 other separate options.

This was unfamiliar neighborhood for me as I stopped by for my kids activity then checked for buffet where my 5 y/o asked for French fries. We took 2 plates not even full about 10-15 individual fries and that’s it, the trey was empty.

When I asked for a takeout, container they gave me was a small rectangular plastic box with a lid and honestly I think I took the last of meat because it was that little of a choice.

Today my best friend and I and 1 year old Niece,I went to the Chinese buffer off Hiawatha and there was a piece of metal in my noodles and it cut my tongue, I nicely went up to the counter asking to speak to a boss or owner, the women came to my table and immediately remove my plate (to hide from customers) and then she told me to get another plate, I told her I wasn’t interested in getting a new plate I would just like my refund, she then suggested to get another plate and I again said I just really want my refund, she then said that we have to pay, mind you we only had a few bites of our food, and she kept suggestion we pay and I then refused and then threaten to call the police, so I then paid for my food that had metal in it, to avoid being arrested. I hadn’t been to Chinese, let an alone buffet, in a loooong time. Wanted it to be better. Just limited options. I left satisfied tho, but very limited options & egg rolls which are my go to, were a 2. But the rice was horrible horrible. And there was only a very ‘sticky’ white rice & some other gray/tan colored rice that was awful. Of what they did have was a 3. For $15 in 2025, still satisfied & worth helping a small family business & I was the first customer of the day. But it’s not memorable & def not worth driving out of the way for.
