This is NOT sushi! At best, you could call it an Americanized version of Sushi house. Picture McDonald's opening a sushi spot in a strip mall and you're getting closer. I'll explain...
First, service wasn't great. Waiter was very shy not super attentive. In fact, a big shout-out to the busser, she ended up taking most of our orders simply because she checked in far more often than the waiter did!
The menu: Apparently their ideal customer lacks the imagination to picture what the dishes would look like because their entire menu is a picture book of different dishes, generally not a good sign.
For appetizers: Every single item has a fried element on the plate. It's not that those items tasted particularly bad, but it was all the same and really didn't have the freshness that one would normally associate with a sushi restaurant. Even the "Tuna Tartar" was served on fried wonton chips and were different colors, the difference in color you would expect if in one batch the Mayo had oxidized and the other batch was made more freshly.
On to their signature rolls: Again, we struggled to find anything that wasnt fried. Ordered three rolls and was disappointed by all three. No freshness and everything had that same taste of being fried then covered in eel sauce.
Price: it was actually a little high for the quality that you get. Compared to a genuine sushi bar, this place is cheap but it shows in their menu.
Would definitely NOT recommend this to anyone who is looking for fresh sushi meal. However, if you wanted to try sushi but were nervous to eat raw fish...
Maybe they could add...
Read moreBest sushi in the area! I am obsessed with their Miami rolls. They are my go-to Friday night dinner. Their steak teriyaki is great for those who don't like seafood or sushi. Their house salad dressing is absolutely amazing as well, and goes really well with their avocado salad (it's basically just their house salad with half of avocado on it). I always got our food to go, although there restaurant looks nice and cozy and is very modern looking. I had been living right near this place for about 5 years and always thought it wouldn't be good because it was in a strip mall. But I had friends that were coming out from downtown and they wanted to get dinner there, so even though I was skeptical, I gave it a try. My friends had said that I was so lucky because I "lived down the street from the best sushi place in a 20 mile radius". And it turned out, they were right! It's very good, always fresh, and the service is fantastic. Try it, you won't be...

There were a lot of things on the menu to choose from, unfortunately, it was mostly the same thing with just a different ingredient or two. I chose what seemed to be the most unique dish and thought that it was alright. I was not very impressed with the tea or the miso soup. The tea is not a big deal at all, but the miso soup definitely had enough of an impact as to detract from the experience. The tempura was good, though it had tempura that I would not normally consider to be a "traditional" staple of the dish. Not bad, but at the same time, not great to make the change worthwhile. I did enjoy the noodles and the broth was nicely flavored.
Service was good and the atmosphere was...
