Village Square Diner — Restaurant in Carroll Township

Now at home, I remember my time at VILLAGE SQUARE DINER at 5201 SPRING ROAD, SHERMANSDALE, PA 17090, #717-275-7218

After I sat down, a song starts playing over all speakers, “LOVE WILL KEEP US TOGETHER” by CAPTAIN & TENNILE. TENNILE said, “THINK OF ME BABE WHENEVER”, immediately I start thinking of a ‘LONG AGO LOST LOVE’…that could have gone places, if I had put more effort into it.

While thinking, the waiter greets me, and then hand me a menu, I start ordering anything on the menu so I can listen to CAPTAIN & TENNILE’S song.

After ordering, and song at the end, another song starts playing, “TAKE ME HOME COUNTRY ROADS” by JOHN DENVER.

JOHN DENVER’S song nearly over, I wonder what song will play next, directly after JOHN DENVER’S song, “YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE DANCING” by LEO SAYER starts.

Now up beat, I get up and head to the restroom, while walking, I see mounted on walls, pictures of ELVIS PRESLEY, the BEATLES & MARYLIN MONROE (I hope her name is spelled correctly).

After using the restroom and food before me, I eat and is completely satisfied, because I am listening to beautiful songs from the past, have seen wonderful pictures from the past, and is now full from over the top cuisine…wait a minute, music, food, and pictures helped me to almost forget my ‘LONG AGO LOST LOVE’!

The first time I came here I ordered the eggs benedict. That was delicious, hollandaise was smooth and perfect! Today me and my boyfriend we're heading home (Pittsburgh) from here after Christmas with family and stopped in hoping they were open. Yep! I don't know the gentleman's name.who greeted and seated us nor do I know our servers name 😭, sorry! But they were wonderful, inviting and friendly! On to the food! I ordered the sirloin and eggs. Both made perfect, boyfriend got the country fried steak and he says steak was crispy and moist, gravy was thick and flavorful! I absolutely recommend this place and would even say go out of your way to come to this place to patron during these difficult times! The food is wonderful and portioned big! And the staff are fantastic and friendly! Kept my coffee full! 🤣

Merry Christmas and Happy...

A friend of mine, who has a disability and has a service dog went in and was treated horribly. They separated her from the other people and was demanded to show her papers. (Which is illegal to do, per ADA guidelines). Her service dog is trained. Shame on you for discriminating against someone with a disability! This is not a business I will support. Local businesses should treat their locals better, who support their business. "The service animal must be permitted to accompany the individual with a disability to all areas of the facility where customers are normally allowed to go. An individual with a service animal may not be segregated from other customers." That is straight from the ADA. This business segregated my friend and humiliated...
