I want to love this place! We would love to have a fun, neighborhood spot to grab a bite or a drink. We visited on a Thursday a few weeks ago, and we were the only patrons. The manager waited on us and we had a wonderful experience! She told is of their plans, about the chef (Belgium, my husband is also Belgium), and we were truly excited. The food was incredible! The french fries were to die for (and I donât like fries!). I couldnât wait to go back and have them again!
We came back the next Friday, and the place was packed! We were excited to see this, as we want them to succeed! We waited at the door, and were never acknowledged, and finally found a seat near the door. After waiting for quite awhile, the waitress finally came over and took our order. She explained there could be a delay, as there was only one chef, and they were busy. We had no problem, as we knew they are still getting their feet under them, and working out the kinks. After 20 or so minutes, the waitress comes backs and saidâŚâwhat did you order again?â She proceeded to flip through a stack of tickets, until she found ours. 5 or so minutes went by when another waitress came by and tried to deliver the wrong food. We said no, not oursâŚand she went from table to table until she located the rightful owner. Not long after, our waitress came by again, to verify our order! I am not kidding when I say this happened 4 more times! Over an hour later, our food arrived, minus my fries! I saidâŚI also order a side of friesâŚthe waitress looked surprised and said she would check. In the meantime my husband received his full meal, which included fries. I noticed that these were not even close to the fries we were served the week before. I tasted one, and nope, not even close. The cut, the seasoning and preparationâŚnot at all close! Average at best. After the 3rd trip to our table to assure me my fries were comingâŚI asked to have them removed from the bill. We finished our meal, paid the bill, and the waitress returned to ask if we wanted dessert! I replied, Iâve already settled the check, so noâŚand we had al ready been there for over two hours!
I can forgive a few mishaps on a busy night, at a new restaurant, but this was way over the top bad service. The food wasnât âbadâ, but it wasnât anything special either. Not like the week before. Consistency is so important, and this was way off the mark!
Bad night maybeâŚand I am almost willing to give them another shot, however, they need to know this isnât gonna fly for long with their inconsistent food and service. If you are not ready to open, hold off until you have it together.

   Read moreGreat service and the best quality food I've had in the area. This place deserves a much higher rating, IMO. However, as we were leaving we spoke with some very disgruntled customers. They were very unhappy about the bartender being on the phone too much, neglecting their service. They were not pleased about the amount of time they spent trying to get a check & cash out.
To counter that experience, we were well taken care of by our waitress.
They had a solid draft selection and a tasty-looking cocktail menu.
My chicken fried steak was one of the best I've had (it's my go-to for new diners.) It was tender and flavorful with ZERO gristle--a level of meat quality so rare I can't remember the last time I've eaten a CFS like this. The crust was huge and crunchy. The sawmill gravy was excellent (my first time hearing this term). Pots & veggies were tasty.
Fish & Chips were solid. The grilled lemon was a classy touch.
I can't wait to come back!
A week later: couldn't resist the CFS again đ While it wasn't grisle-free, it was still as excellent as before.
We sat at the bar and Bob offered us perfect service-- checking in when appropriate, ensuring we had everything we needed--even intercepting a mistranslation from the kitchen. Love this place, especially when I have a hard time finding quality food that isn't too expensive in the area.
3rd visit, ~a week later: one server, one bartender, two cooks - WAAAAY too few staff for how busy they were. The staff were doing their damndest, but there's only so much limited staff can do. Folks were waiting for a seat for quite a while. At times, several groups were waiting for a seat with no staff on the floor (helping in the kitchen, we discovered).    Read moreMy husband and I had heard about this place from a few people. Since this place is right around the corner from our home, we thought why not give it a try. We went in and it was a quiet setting with a few other customers eating.
We were seated right away by our server who let us know this was their first day and had asked us for our drinks. After giving us time to review the menu we were greeted by the Training server and our two brand new staff. They took our order and with any training moment, things run slow. My husband ordered a burger and I ordered the club sandwich. We also ordered some appetizers! We blinked and the appetizers arrived! Hand made. Minimal spices. Juicy chicken tenders! Giant mozzarella sticks! Very delicious!! Then before we could wrap our heads around the appetizers, our meals came out. The burger looked like your standard mom and pops burger but better! Fresh ingredients, soft bun, mountain of fries! My turkey club was huge! ( I know, thatâs what she said) loaded with fresh veggies, perfect bacon, those thicc turkey slices, and the softest avocado⌠ugh perfection!!! Really if all I got was that sandwich I would have been just fine, but I also got a mountain of fries!
Take away, they are still new and working out the kinks. If youâre looking to have top tier service and effortless dining. GIVE THEM TIME. HAVE PATIENCE. I believe they will get there soon enough. The food is amazing and you can tell the chef appreciates what he does. The atmosphere is a work in progress but it was still very enjoyable! The staff was friendly and to our new server that just started- I appreciate your passion for excellence for yourself and for this business.
