Tak E Sushi and Rolls — Restaurant in Carson

First time reviewing this place, so let’s begin. On March 8, my older sister, Jennifer, and I went to Tak E Sushi and Rolls restaurant to eat sushi for lunch and I did not expect sushi to be this delicious and nutritious☺️. I guess I was wrong for not trying sushi for the first time😅 (forgive my rudeness). There exists countless options for Jenny and I, and customers to eat on their menu, but I think my older sister doesn’t want to eat a lot. Plus, there were plenty of drinks to choose from, but one thing I found out that there exists anime style drinks with likable anime characters from One Piece, Naruto/Naruto Shippuden, and Sailor Moon, though I wish they also added other iconic anime characters from other popular anime IPs that every anime fan loves, you know, the ones from Dragon Ball, Bleach, My Hero Academia, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Haikyuu!!, etc.; not to mention Hololive, the world’s virtual YouTuber agency, Vocaloid, Love Live!, maybe Pokemon, cute anime girls, and more should have their own drinks, even Star Wars (influenced by Akira Kurosawa’s films and Japanese culture which George Lucas said that Akira Kurosawa is his idol) deserve their own drinks in sushi stores, but a man can dream, yes? Anyway, we ordered the sushi while I had ramen, and I just couldn’t get enough of eating them as I smiled. It was great and I wish I could’ve tried it sooner rather than later. One thing that I forgot to see is that there’s also a bar you can sit on, but I’ll try that next time. In conclusion, the Tak E Sushi and Rolls restaurant is recommended for everyone. Not bad Japanese food and I want to come back again sometime. Though, I want to see the restaurant filled with people, though. I like the special " buy 2 rolls get one free". I recently had a small gathering and I thought buying a few rolls, figured 12 people, 12 rolls will be great and with their buy "2 get 1 roll free" special, I won't spend so much. To my surprise I only got 1 free roll. I asked if I can be honored the "buy two get 1 free", buying 8 rolls getting 4 free? The gentleman at the registered said I can only get 1nroll free no mater how many rolls I buy. I also noticed the gentleman at the register treats his customers differently if you don't tip. Thankfully I tipped him that day but there have been times I don't have enough to tip a full $10 (I'm referring to tipping for to go orders, there is no table service here) the gentleman was very dismissive, didn't let me ask my question, cut me off mis question saying "yes, yes, yes" waiving his hands for me to be on my way. I know not to go there if I don't have enough to tip him what he is expecting to be tipped to place your order in a to go back. The food at time is bland but there spicy california roll is good. I’m very disappointed with my recent visit to Take Sushi & Rolls. I came in with the intention of ordering some sushi rolls, as I’ve been here before and enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, this experience was completely different.

When I asked the owner for a recommendation—just hoping for a little guidance—he seemed annoyed and uninterested. Instead of offering suggestions or making me feel welcome, he responded with a dismissive attitude. The conversation became uncomfortable as I explained I wasn’t very familiar with the menu, and he ultimately told me it was “up to me.”

Things escalated to the point where he canceled my order entirely and refunded me. I was shocked and confused by his behavior. I’ve never had an experience like this at any restaurant.

Sadly, after this encounter, I will not be returning to this place. It’s a shame, because I had good memories here—but respect and basic courtesy should always come with the service.
