Disappointing experience. We’ve done a lot of rooms, and were excited to try this Pirate one with some people who had never done it before. The game master did not warn us that we would have a hard time doing this with three people who had never done an escape room before, with two kids. The first problem was that the room was so linear that you could only work on one thing at a time. With a group of 5, it was crowded and there wasn’t enough for each person, especially the kids. That also meant that we ended up wasting about 20 minutes on a single clue that we understood the solution for, but was super frustrating to complete, and couldn’t do anything now else in the meantime. The game masters don’t talk to you out loud, so waiting for clues or confirming that we were on the right track, took up valuable time too. Overall, not a very engaging room and there’s not much for a group to do. I definitely would not recommend for groups or beginners. The decor was nice and the story was pretty developed, but that...
Read moreMy family and I have been doing several Escape Rooms lately and I would have to say, it really matters upon the Game Master you have to get a great experience or not. We were lucky enough to have Jon W as our Game Master. Not only did he get us really involved in play for Blackbeard, he helped along the way when needed. The Back in Time Escape Rooms are exciting and fun and I am looking forward to experiencing each of their rooms. I also love the fact that we had the option to do an Expert level versus Beginners for that room. Always loving how these challenge us to become even better in...
Read moreWe went for the kids workshop today and had a great time. We played the Salem Witch room first. The room wasn't scary, but the kids (7&10) were a little nervous. Harrison (I think that was their name) was really great. They saw that the kids were nervous and let me know about the one jump scare in the room. That was so nice! The workshop part was really great. Ty took us back into our room and explained some of the puzzles and how they worked. We then got to see the "brains" of the room. After the kids received a cool safe to build. It was a really...
