Ate here late (well, close to closing time) on a Thursday night. Staff was helpful, friendly and accommodating. Food was all very tasty too. A lot of American-style home-cooked/diner type options. I had the chicken friend steak with green beans and slaw. Other adults in my party had the ham steak and Swiss steak special. All were very good. Two kids had fish sticks and corn dog, they liked those as well. Tried the homemade cherry pie. Looks like they had a lot of pies available, but by the time we ate, the only options left were no-sugar peanut butter, raisin and cherry. Running out of pies is either a very good or very bad sign...fortunately for us, it turned out it was a good sign. Cherry was the choice, and it was very, very good – tart but not too tart, and filling made from actual cherries, not canned filling. Finally, and this doesn't really have to do with the service but the attitude of the staff, my family and I paid, walked out and sat down on the bench in front to take a photo together. Our waitress followed us out and offered to take the picture for us. It might not have to do with the food service exactly, but that kind of friendliness would have me coming back even if the food was mediocre. Good for us, the food was good too!

Out of all places that I've ever been to I hate to say hands down that this is the best and most greatest place to go. The food was awesome and customer service is exactly what it was supposed to stay throughout time as customer service the employee made sure everything was the way it was supposed to be and that everything was made right refills where done right on time. I would and for sure most definitely would recommend this place hands down to anyone and everyone

It sounds cheesy but you definitely get food like grandma use to make. In my opinion this is the 2nd best place to get fried catfish in southern Illinois. It tastes like they went out & caught this morning. If you’re looking for a small town diner that’s always got “regulars” drinking coffee & great hospitality & service-this is your place.

Went there for the first time with high hopes because of seeing all the cars there all the time. Our server was very nice and helpful which is why it’s a 2 star and not a 1. All of the reviews say how good the food is and that it’s “just like grandma used to make”... if your grandmother made mashed potatoes from a box then by all means, it’s like grandma used to make. The salads were so small it was kind of funny. Then when we went to pay they told us they don’t accept card so we had to go to the gas station to the ATM. All in all we will not be going back. The waitress was very...

We stopped in hoping for a late breakfast/Brunch and they stopped serving that at 11(it was 11:05) so we decided to stay and have lunch because we were so hungry. I got chicken fried steak which was pretty good but the mashed potatoes were an off texture and green beans and corn were bland to be honest I wasn't very happy with the sides, they nearly had that school lunch vibe to them. I was just expecting a little more finesse on the plate at a home cooking style restaurant like this, not a waste of money but not...
