Golden Palace Chinese Buffet Restaurant — Restaurant in Carthage

Over the years I've eaten at the Golden Palace because of its convenience and friendly servers and manager. However I feel as though the quality of the food, though consistently average, has diminished over time. There is great room for improvement with the buffet, at least adding a little variety every now and then, but mainly ensuring that the food does not sit for too long ( I know that's how a buffet works, but the food can sit for TOO long and that generally makes the saucy food become a thick paste). Fresh ingredients would benefit this place as well. I feel as though the food tastes bland and it could do with a little more flavor (not salt, but seasoning). The service I receive here has always been above par and I love the lady who manages the place, but in order for me to continue my patronage I would want to see an improvement in the quality...

I ordered General Tso Chicken off the menu because I was not drawn to the buffet, believing that my chicken would be cooked fresh and hot. I was wrong, It was hot, the chicken was CHEWY and had a STRINGY TEXTURE. I believe they used meat that was previously cooked and put in back into the fryer, then added to sauce. I waited for 10 plus minutes for my order. I was the only customer in the establishment at that time, other than the owners and employees. I am/WAS very disappointed and dissatisfied with my order. I do not plan to go back and give them any more...

My family and I have been going to this restaurant for years. We LOVE it. We love the owners and employees. Everyone is very nice and the atmosphere is wonderful. The pork chops are very delicious. You can have parties in the back room and eat all you can eat on the buffet. I will invite anyone to go and enjoy themselves. With your family and with the one you love. I can promise you that you will return. The food do sit on the bar long they will remove the old food and put out fresh food. Get some of the ice cream when you get finished. But...
